Detroit is going through many amazing changes with construction all over the place with new roads and buildings being fixed and developed. Unrecognizable in a good way from the way it used to be. Corktown Taphouse is a new spot across from the old Tiger Stadium which has a unique way of serving beer, duckpin bowling, and digital darts. I am pictured with the co-owner Michelle as well as Nick and Dominique. Everyone here is very kind, friendly, and professional. Amazing drinks and cool unique games to experience for the first time. It is nestled in a cool part of the city that has a lot going on with great vibes. P.S. I recommend taking a walk from Monroe Street in Greektown through Campus Martius to Michigan Ave. and then stopping at the Corktown Taphouse to quench your thirst and stop at any place you think is cool along the way to experience first hand the amazing transformation going on.

The concept is cool. Everything is self serve. You go up to the bar or the food counters to order and when you’re food is ready you are sent a text telling you your food is ready. Staff were friendly and helpful, but the food coming out took 2x as long as stated and honestly the food was garbage. If I were to go back I’d only drink, play games, but eat elsewhere. Not at all worth the money. I got the three dip trio, and the chips were fine but all three dips were gross. The salsa was way too salty, the guacamole tasted like it came from fast food packets, and the queso had a grainy texture. I also ordered a Philly cheesesteak and it was a ground beef smash patty in an untoasted bun, and way over salted. I was not impressed. The drinks were fine, nothing really impressive. It’s a great place to go and hang out but maybe eat before hand.

Was visiting Detroit for the first time visiting family and ran across the Corktown taphouse, its a new spot in a really cool area of the city. The atmosphere was amazing, the concept was differant than I've ever been to in a bar. Taps everywhere for any kind of beer you like, but I'm a domestic beer guy and unlike other craft beer type places the had Michalob ultra on tap!! Bowling...Darts...2 kitchens.. which we tried them both! Food was good and done quickly and I liked how they texted you when it was ready. I was unsure if I was going to like the arm band concept and getting beer yourself, but it actually was less hassle then waiting on a server to fill my empty! We will be visiting this place again when we visit the city!! A must see place!!

I prepaid for my reservation and a party of 20 people. There were a few things that didn’t go as planned:

The table reservations were confusing and the staff could not resolve the issue before the owner intervened. No one seemed to know where my reservation was. We were seated in several different places before we were taken to the correct spot. This cut in to about 15 minutes of our game time that I pre paid for. When I asked the manager if he could extend the game just 15 more minutes so that my party could finish, I received a blatant, “no”. He stated that he had another reservation after us. There was no reservation after us. No one showed up until almost 9 pm and no one else came in to play darts after us so he could have extended. One of the girls at the desk had already mentioned that it shouldn’t be a problem. Turns out it was. The manager seemed to be very confused and he wasn’t really friendly. After the owner left, things went downhill.

I was under the impression that I was paying a 20% gratuity for table service. There was absolutely no waitress. None. We had to walk over to get ALL food and drinks. This slowed down the games and cut into our time that couldn’t be extended. The only service I got was the cake cut and he behaved like he didn’t want to do it. He wasn’t friendly either.

I asked for extra plates from the kitchen lead as I purchased several appetizers for the tables. He told me that the plates that the food was on was all that he had. I had to explain that I had 20 people. After that he proceeded to had me a stack of wet silver trays with no liners as if I hadn’t just spent another $80.

There was a situation with someone in my party and the bartender. Before he went over, she showed me that she was very overwhelmed as she was the only person working the bar. She was very unprofessional. She slammed down the drinks and walked away. The manager and I had a conversation her and I was apologetic. I pulled the manager to the side to express that she was overwhelmed. No adjustments were made and she continued being rude and unprofessional with other customers.

Overall I cannot say that I received the service that I paid for. I didn’t get much service at all. We wanted to find a place where we could return and enjoy ourselves. I cannot say that it is this establishment at this moment. I didn’t have the opportunity to play any games because I was pretty much the waitress that we didn’t have. This is a wonderful concept but the service is poor. There’s still a lot of...

This place is awesome!! Super cool vibe. Wall full of different beers to try. Another wall of wines to try. Also have a FULL bar. Great idea! Upon entering, you're greeted with super friendly staff that are genuinely eager to show you around and how things work. They explain the wristband and how your choice of payment (credit/debit card) is charged. It's primarily self-serve. You can mill around and try a plethora of beer and get info on them at the same time. They have a 76-tap self-pour wall, offering an ever-rotating selection of craft beers, seltzers, ciders, wines, sangrias and spirits. Every time you tap your wristband, the total YOU'VE accumulated (on your specific wristband) is shown on the screen. You order food the same way. The food was hot and very good. They have a limited menu, but honestly, it's perfect. Great snacks and a few other entree type dishes, and overall very tasty! It's great for a large party with one card on file. Everyone can ante up what they owe at the end of the night. They have Duckpin bowling...THIS IS TRULY A BLAST!! First time doing it, we absolutely loved it and had so much fun!! They also have Augmented Reality Darts. You'll have to do the research on that. We didn't play those, but they looked super cool. The staff were very attentive and made sure we had cleared off tables and stopped to check on us several times. It was just right. Not in an annoying way at all. Overall, our little party of 7 was accommodated very well without a wait for seating at 630pm. Call ahead to make sure they'll have plenty of seating before you go. The parking is a bit of a challenge. Street/paid parking close by. Was super full and had to drive around a bit before getting a spot near the venue. Great place!! So much fun!!...

I like the concept. A lot of drink offerings to please anyone- ranged from soft drinks, beers, seltzers to wine. Food was good and I didn’t find it pricier than similar offerings.

The tipping was my biggest issue. We didn’t see the need to leave a tip because the entire environment is self serve. Our group was on 2 separate accounts. The first account went to check out, we waited for a second because no one was at the front. Eventually, they checked the person out, and then we were next. The woman candidly told us that we “are supposed to check out by dropping it into the boxes.” There are 3 boxes as you leave that range in tip %. She said that it “takes too long to check people out manually when there is a line” , which is the only way to not leave a tip. We didn’t feel the need to protest during this interaction and she just kind of left to attend to another guest. It just felt we were forced to tip in an amount that wasn’t relative to the service received. I work in hospitality and always tip, but not when there is no service given to me. The exit and paying process needs to be reevaluated- it isn’t the customer’s issue because the system is not set...
