Gregg's Pizza & Bar-B-Que — Restaurant in Detroit

First I want to start with Gregg's has been our weekly go to pizza place since I moved into Detroit in 2021, so much so that promised my parents we would get it if they ever ventured up here to visit. Well, my parents were here to visit and help me post surgery last week and as hard as I tried, they did not get to taste Gregg's Pizza... I placed our order at 5:51 Friday 1/19/24, was advised it would arrive at 7:32. It is Friday, completely understood the long wait and was not upset. At 7:44 when the pizza hadn't arrived I reached out to get an update. I was told it had already left the building and was on the way, I accepted that answer and waited for it to arrive. At 8:11 the pizza was still not here, I reached back out and was told the driver was "2 minutes away". Now... I live 6 minutes from Gregg's, at 7:44 the pizza had already left so it should be here but... I said "ok" and resumed waiting by the door. At 8:35 I called back, at this point if the pizza did exist it was not only an hour past the original arrival time but had supposedly been in the delivery vehicle for over an hour. I asked for the order to be cancelled and got dinner from another local restaurant at 9:00 PM. Could we have come to pick up the pizza, sure, but I was 2 days post op and not allowed to drive and my elderly parents were in from out of state and I did not feel comfortable with them going out to get it. Had someone from Gregg's been honest that they lost or missed our order, I would have understood, life happens, but I personally feel like the pizza was never made and was never on the way. I went from a weekly customer to someone who will never order from here again... the poor customer service ratings just keep coming in and nothing seems to be changing. Our orders are often not correct, but always arrived hot and delicious regardless of our "custom" requests being missed... I can handle that... but telling me our food is on the way for over an hour, not acceptable and really made for unnecessary stress on me when I needed...

I ordered a large meat lovers with banana peppers. I don’t live close to the establishment and it was recommended. I look half way home they didn’t add the hamburger or the bacon on the pizza. I called and sent the picture to whoever was on staff 10/14/23. I asked to be refunded on my card for missing items. The manager told the young lady just to put my name in the book and they will replace my pizza and I have 7 days to honor it. I called the next day before going to get the replacement. They told me okay come get it. When I get there they tried to charge me for it. They told me I needed to bring the old pizza back so they could show the owner. The pizza was in the dumpster. But who would keep a pizza for several days. I also showed the young lady the picture. She blew me off and said sorry it is nothing she can do. I tried calling to speak to owner Gregg but they keep giving me the run around. I spent $38 on one pizza and it was waste of my money. I try to support black business but the lack of customer service was horrible. This was my first and last time...

I entered yesterday only to see the staff under dressed. The young lady at the counter played in her hair before she asked me if she can help me. Never once did she wash her hands. Took my money an proceeded to look on her phone,play in her hair, and take a few orders. Meanwhile a young man came to the counter in a beater and flip flops asking someone can he take their order. The cook was rapping loud to the music that was playing. Still waiting to receive my food after I've been there an extra twenty minutes. Another prep cook comes and checks her phone with open toe sandals and braids so long that they should have been covered with a hair net. It took for a young lady to come from the back to ask me again what was my order.

The food is excellent. But for me as an older person do not want to walk into the establishment and see this kind of conduct. It will make me support someone else. So.please lets fix this minor hiccup and run this business like a...
