Sooo…where do I start? I’m gonna keep this as brief as possible (HA!). Got there around 5… Took at least an hour to get our food (just 2 of us. And a total of 5 other ppl in the restaurant. SEVEN PPL altogether.). We ordered 2 platters: One with all wings, mac, and greens. The other with 1pc of fish, 1 fried wing, chz grits, greens, and yams. No cornbread, later found out no yams. Grits looked and tasted like a bowl of butter disguised as mashed potatoes (not even grits). I’m still looking for the chz. After all this time of waiting, the grits and mac were cold. Took quite some time to get those sides back after sending them back to be re-heated or replaced. When they came back, barely warm. They put MORE butter in the grits which btw sat on top because they weren’t hot enough to melt it. My chicken wing was sitting on top of my fish when they brought it out which was ok. I moved it to get to the fish first. Tried to break the chicken wing open and I knew it couldn’t have been done enough because it wouldn’t break without a chainsaw and the skin was tough. I pried it open because I really wanted to prove myself wrong…Unfortunately, I wasn’t. I looked in the joint and beyond and it was pink and BLOODY. There was CHICKEN BLOOD on my plate! 6.The kitchen manager happened to be clearing the table next to us when we got his attention. I told him, and I showed him. He was prepared to defend their problem but after seeing the blood and raw meat, he couldn’t. His response was almost a pleasant one (weird). He barely apologized and immediately asked what he could do for me. I had to choose (after just leaving church) if I wanted to tell a lie about what he could really do for me, or if I should cuss at him. I chose the first. I told him I’d take another piece of fish because I certainly didn’t want another pc. of chicken. His response was “I’ll get that pc of fish out to you (as if he was giving me a deal I should be grateful for), and “thank you for understanding” (I never said I understood). By this time no one else is in the restaurant but the 2 of us and the staff. It took at least 20-25 minutes for them to cook ONE PC OF FISH! I could see if they were filling other orders as well, but there was NO ONE ELSE in the doggone restaurant. In fact, the restaurant had long closed and we were still sitting there waiting. He comes out proudly with one pc. of fish, and thanks me again for understanding, though again I did not. No discount, no refund, no extra food…nothing offered to compensate us for this mess of a visit and them nearly “un-aliving” me with raw chicken and chicken blood. 10.He puts the food in the bag, ties it up and says thank you as he walking away. We finally get up to leave, grab the bags and the side containers almost fall out. YOU COULDN’T EVEN TIE A KNOT IN A BAGGG??? But you were sure to take out that automatic gratuity😒 Wanna know the PROs? Easy…The Kool-Aid, the greens, and the waitress were great! But the bathroom was...
Read moreWe had the worst experience today with the kitchen manager at Kuzzo's Chicken & Waffles. First, we ordered at 10 am through DoorDash. They estimated our delivery time for after 11:30 am. We waited and waited. We learned via a doordash chat that the food would be here by 11:55 am. It was not. When it finally arrived after 12 noon the waffles were soggy, the eggs were cold, and there was an order completely missing. We paid $64 and waited for 2 hours. We then went to the restaurant and told them what happened. First thing out of their mouths "that's on doordash, not us. Take it up with them." We asked to speak to a manager. The kitchen manager Allen was there, the general manager was not. The bartender contacted the general manager who stated that she was gone to the store and wouldn't be back for 40 mins. While I contacted doordash, Allen comes out and gives my friend the absolute worst attitude. He actually told her that it was not his problem and that he would not remake our food. I asked to speak to him. One of the waitstaff went to get him. He didn't move. When the door opened again I said "hey" and he looked up. I had to go open the door to the kitchen to get him to even acknowledge me. When he came to the door, he said "what's the problem?" I said "are you remaking our food?" He turned around and walked away like I hadn't said a word. Luckily, one of the waitresses was kind and sympathetic. The bartender, who I assume was the head bartender, did remake our eggs and waffles herself. By the time we got back to work, it was after 1 pm. We ordered at 10am. I cannot understand how business owners want our support but don't want to provide the appropriate service. As a business, if you choose to utilize doordash, grubhub, etc. then you also need to take responsibility for their service. Doordash didn't forget to pack the missing order. Kuzzo's did. You cannot blame everything on someone else. I'm not writing the review on doordash or vowing not to utilize doordash in the future. My review is based on the experience I had with Kuzzo's. And it was my first time there. I will not return. Black owned or otherwise, I don't spend my money where it is not appreciated...
Read moreI arrived 15 mins after opening time on a Friday morning with a friend of mine. We told the host we would sit at the bar, she told us we had to wait to be seated. My friend & I looked at each other with confusion due to the fact that normally a bar is open seating. As she walked us to the bar with two menu's in her hand we told her that there would be one more person joining us shortly. She stated she could not sit us until our entire party had arrived. Instantly I was confused & agitated. We said "we're sitting at the bar, what do you mean? "Thats our policy" she stated with sarcasm in her voice. Mind you it isn't posted anywhere in the restaurant that you will not be seated until your ENTIRE party arrives. We sat in the waiting area until our other guest arrived to be seated. The restaurant wasn't very packed upon arrival but as time passed customers began to pour in. I was even more annoyed considering that at this moment there wasn't any seats left at the bar to accommodate 3 people as there had been earlier. We asked to speak to a manager. The hostess never went and got the manager. Once our other guest arrived fortunately two people had just finished their meal & we asked a person sitting between two empty seats if he could move down one so that all 3 of us could sit together. Fortunately he cooperated. We asked our waitress for the manager to express our concerns. He came out & talked with us briefly & apologized for our inconvenience. Together we ordered red velvet waffles, chicken, cheese grits, home fries & mac & cheese. The food was really good, except for the mac & cheese, it was pretty bland if you ask me. They're pretty large portions, especially the whole wings, they look like they're on steroids, but they were still seasoned well & quite tasty. I did not finish my entire meal. I was full pretty quickly. Overall good food, poor customer service from (Hostess) her attitude is very poor, &...
