Lefty's Cheesesteaks, Burgers, & Wings - Detroit — Restaurant in Detroit

I hesitate to write reviews like this because anybody can have a bad day, but this experience stuck with me so much that it's been over 3 weeks and I'm writing it now because people should know. I went to Lefty's for first time a few weeks ago and had a disturbing experience. Ordered the original cheesesteak and some fries. No issues I thought. They staple the bag so I didn't check and should of because when I got home, there were no fries. I was a little ticked off because I left a $5 tip and figured I'd get good service so I called. Calvin who had taken my order knew immediately it was me calling about my fries, I told him I was too far to come back so he said I could come and get my fry anytime just mention his name and another cheesesteak for my troubles. There was a game on the next afternoon, so I went to collect and Calvin wasn't there so I talked to a woman who said she was the manager but I didn't get her name. When I told her what happened she balked, and said well Calvin isn't here and I'm not saying you're lying but I don't know why he would offer you another sandwich. I politely asked if she could call him. She did and after a brief conversatoin she said we'll get it ready. Great I thought so I sat and checked scores on my phone while I waited. At one point I distinctly heard her tell one of the employees to "take those fries right there and put them in a box". The employee said, "those?" and she said, "yes, put them in a box". It kinda sounded strange so I noted it in my memory. When I got home with my order, the fries were ice cold, hard and some burned. Apparently she was mad I was getting a sandwich along with the fries I was shorted, so decided to retaliate against me by ordering an employee to give me some old fries that should have been thrown...

Food was terrible, I've never had Philly cheese steak, but if this is a representation of how it is i never want it again. We ordered a #2 southpaw A big sloppy mess, tasted horrible, full of all this sloppy, cheese everywhere, and all that grease. I couldn't eat that. # 10 Leftys Corned beef sandwich, meat wasn't good, too much cheese, cheap bread, too much sauce. Absolutely terrible and a waste 🗑 of my $26.47 Also wasn't sure if the lady who was handling money with her gloves on, was also handling food, and changing her gloves appropriately... I hope she was , as her hands were wet , and I did see her later change gloves again. It's just weird seeing people handling money with gloves on, and then you look again and they're handling food. As I'm sure you can easily forget to take those gloves off. The two tasks really shouldn't be mixed.

Went in to get a Sam's cheesestake. Noticed the two cooks just standing there watching the game. The lady at the register wasn't paying attention to people walking in as she was playing with her phone. I placed a order was told it was going to take 20 minutes even when no one was in the store or orders on the screen. The two guys in the back disappeared when my order was rang up as he proceeded to throw my ticket on the prep table and walk back to the back of the store. They disappeared for about 5 minutes with nothing in hand to return with. He kept touching his face with his hand. Didn't wash his hands before wearing gloves. Got my food out was dry and barely any cheese onions or green peppers in it. The steak was dry. 17 dollars for a sub I don't recommend going to this location. Might have better luck at a different location. I personally will...
