Minnie’s Detroit is really pretty inside but small. I don’t think they take reservations. The Expresso Martin was a 10/10 (highly recommend). Our waitress was super nice and helpful. I love the vibe. None of our food was good and I had to send my candid yams back because they were hard. The cheese on the Mac and cheese was not melted and cold on the inside. The Lollipop Lamb Chops had no flavor/season. It just tasted like char broiled. The shrimp hibachi dish was horrible and it was extra to add eggs). Although our food was not good at all. I would go back to try the brunch and get drinks. They also have a private room you could probably book. They are located in mid town. 5221 Trumbull Street, Detroit, Michigan 48208. Black owned business. They are closed on Monday. They are open Tues-Thur 5pm-12am. Fri 5pm-2am. Sat 11am-2am. Sun 11am-12am.

Oop…did I come on a better day. The reviews are not that great. We went on a Friday at 6:30 pm. We got a good parking spot and was never charged admission. Music was pleasant but the waitress seemed as if she was ready to go home. Myself and one of my guests ordered their version of the Old Fashion. We both thought it was weird that we both had sugar all over the outside of the glass needless to say it was all over our hands so we asked was this on purpose and the waitress shrugged her shoulder and said it’s the cinnamon. Huh??? Smh other than that we ordered wings, lamb chops, salmon Alfredo and the salmon croquettes. Everything was cool except the wings were bland to me. The lamb chops and Alfredo were great! For the most part it was a quaint, quiet and chilled for the night.

Ive never seen so many people just stand around looking like theyd rather be in bed. $20 admission, huh? The place is very small. Unusually boring. So…I guess I also messed up with having the expectation that I should get good quality and service at midnight. The kitchen was loaded with young cooks that were buzzing around. Lost in the sauce, I guess! The manager had to jump in and help 4-5 lost ones in the kitchen. Smh. I waited 1 hour for french fries that were originally supposed to be with my order. I ended up just taking my food home. The fries were dark brown. I didn’t know that french fries were brown…and you can see what a $14 Turkey burger looks like! No reason to go back.

I went to this restaurant with a friend for Valentine’s Day, and unfortunately, it was a huge disappointment. The only highlight was the music, which created a nice atmosphere, but everything else fell flat.

Since we didn’t have a reservation, due to their phone going straight to voicemail, we put our name on the list and were told we’d receive a call when a table or bar seating became available. After waiting in the car for nearly two hours with no call, we decided to go in—only to find that we were finally being seated. Honestly, I don’t think we would have been called at all if we hadn’t gone in ourselves.

Once seated, our waiter greeted us and took our drink orders. We got our drinks but were told we’d have to wait to order food because the kitchen was backed up. That was understandable, but what wasn’t was the lack of service in the meantime. Our waiter never refilled our water or checked on us. After about an hour, he finally came back to take our food order.

As we waited, we were reassured three separate times that our food was coming “shortly”—yet it never arrived. Another hour passed, still with no food and no water refills. At that point, we decided to leave. When we informed our waiter, he simply said, “Okay,” with no apology or acknowledgment of the awful experience. To make things worse, he then told me I’d need to pay for my drink, which I had ordered two hours earlier. Only after speaking with his manager did they finally comp the drinks.

Overall, this experience was frustrating and unacceptable. Clearly, they were not prepared for the holiday crowd, and the service was unorganized and inattentive. I won’t be...

My husband and I were invited out for food and drinks by a friend. The gentlemen who greeted us at the front was very nice and sat us at the bar so we could wait on my friend and her husband to arrive. We ordered a couple of drinks and the bartender was nice and accommodating. I did have to ask about their gratuity due to my husband wanting to run a tab so he wouldn't have keep getting charged a gratuity fee every time a receipt was produced. After reviewing the menu which is A la carte, my husband ordered wings and I ordered steak bites, I was told there weren't any more steak bites so decided to get the catfish nuggets which came highly recommended by the bartender. My husbands food arrived and I was told my catfish was coming, well it never came due to the bartender being told a few minutes later that the kitchen didn't have any more cornmeal. I love to support businesses but this was unacceptable, the communication within the staff needs to be better. If the kitchen isn't stocked with items needed to take orders convey that with the staff so they won't recommend that to your guest, so I sipped my wine and watched my husband eat his wings that were barely seasoned. My friend arrived and we enjoyed ourselves as we always do, the DJ was playing a lot of 90's jams. Hopefully management can have staff meetings and make a few adjustments for improvement, you can't expect people to pay high end prices but given...

We stopped in before a concert downtown. I wanted to support this business and really went in optimistic. The atmosphere was fine it seemed upscale and trendy. Our waitress was nice enough she was knowledgeable about the menu. My partner ordered a gin and tonic which was $9 and it came in a tiny cup and was half full. It looked like a cup they would give you at the dentist with mouthwash. We held out hope for the food and got Alfredo fries and some tacos. The food took about an hour and the restaurant was completely empty. The fries came out cold and the Alfredo sauce was very grainy. The chicken tasted like microwaved naked chicken nuggets from the grocery store. I had a steak taco (it was cold and generally lacked flavor), a shrimp taco which was actually pretty good, and a chicken taco with the same chicken nuggets inside and it was cold. There was lettuce and tomato on the tacos and cold cheese. No sour cream or guacamole available. The food was served with plastic utensils and felt like it came from a food truck. My partner who has no food allergies also had a reaction and broke out into hives after dinner. They sneakily charged 20% gratuity on every single bill and then suggested at the bottom of the bill to tip more. Overall it felt underwhelming and incredibly overpriced for subpar food truck...
