The Detroit Pepper Company — Restaurant in Detroit

I have only been here once but I absolutely loved the stuffed peppers!! I got two orders of the meat filled peppers with pepper jack cheese melted on top and they were delicioso!! There were plenty of peppers for myself and my daughter to share. We also received 2 sides with our peppers which tbh I wasn't too crazy about the selection at first but after receiving our order and gobbling it all down I'm very happy with the sides we received as well. Also, upon arriving at the restaurant we were greeted by the owner, I believe it was the owner, and I have to say what a wonderful man he seemed to be!! He was so pleasant, courteous, and helpful!! He asked me how I heard of the Detroit Pepper Company and I told him that I had read a review online. He asked to see the review but I couldn't show him it because I couldn't find it atm. But, know that we will be back here very soon for some more of Detroit's Finest...

Look, I know opinions are like A** holes and we all have em blah blah blah blah BUT I seriously challenge you to find a better stuffed pepper than this in the country.

The richness and complexity of the flavors were just immaculate. I ordered the Detroit BBQ Stuffed Poblano. Usually I'm not even a fan of BBQ sauce but oh my... There was just something special and unique about the way the sauce married each and every flavor in the vegetables, rice and chicken

I also ordered the Detroit Jalapeno Popper and that did not disappoint either. Flavor was just as rich and complex. Which is WILD considering how few ingredients was in this compared to the Poblano

This place has been on my drop-in list for forever and we made it today! Please note: EVERY dish is made fresh-to-order. So, we had a bit of a wait. Enough of a wait to see the brisk call-in orders coming through. Yup, we should have called it in. But they had a pleasant seating area to wait in. The chef took a 15-min break after us. So glad to see a local small business booming!

The original is excellent but that BBQ poblano was just amazing. Poblanos have such a bad rap; they are NOT spice, just a little bit of zip combined with the right friends. And don't let the photos fool you, the portion sizes are nice.
