🎉 New Year's Adventure at Mama Maria's 🍕✨
Ring in the New Year with a surprise at every turn! On a spontaneous drive to Baltimore, took a deviation and we stopped by Dewey Beach and stumbled upon the unassuming Mama Maria's. What seemed like a simple order-at-the-counter spot turned into so much more!
Swipe left to step through the doors with us into a world of high ceilings, bright lights, and a cozy dining haven. Our waitress Teresa greeted us with warmth and a smile, guiding us veggie lovers through a menu bursting with options.
We indulged in a veggie pizza loaded with onions, mushrooms, olives, peppers, and more – each bite better than the last! Pair that with classic mozzarella sticks and a glass of exquisite red wine, and you've got a meal to remember.
But wait, there's more! 🥳 Teresa's tip about the local ball drop meant we just had to extend our stay. Returning on the 31st, the closed restaurant led us to a hidden bar where Nico, the bartender with tales of India and Mother Teresa, served up life and laughter with our wine and snacks.
Mama Maria's in Dewey Beach isn't just a restaurant; it's a heartwarming experience that turns visitors into storytellers. Highly recommended for its superb food, extreme hospitality, and absolute friendliness. A must-visit that's earned our five stars! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Read moreThe only reason I'm giving 2 stars is because our waiter (God love him) was very new and had trouble interpreting, but tried so hard! The owner/manager should have never let this gentleman be alone yet. The food was good, not great and certainly not worth the money we paid to eat there. I have no problem paying higher prices for good food, service, and environment. It was freezing inside, two other customers bought the restaurants hoodies due to it being so cold, convenient. Our writer took our napkins away when trying to clean up salad dishes prior to our meal. The owner/manager noticed this and addressed it with him but we never got new. When a child eats spaghetti they need napkins. I ordered a pineapple colada that I took two sips out of because it tasted nothing like pineapple or any kind of colada. Overall very dissatisfied. We also ordered pizza fries that came after our meals and litterally had spaghetti sauce and a slice of mozzarella cheese melted on top. I will say that the rolls that were served with our dinner...
Read moreI come here every year with my family while visiting Dewey Beach for its convenient location and dog-friendly patio. The rest of my family is usually served decent food, but I have to be honest and say that the gluten-free pizza crust is genuinely the worst pizza I’ve ever had. Every year I hope that maybe they see the light and purchase the crust from a different wholesaler or wherever they may get it from. Every year it’s the same awful, bland, sorry excuse for a gluten-free pizza crust that crumbles apart before you even pick it up. In fact, it’s so bad that I would think it’d be better if they didn’t add a gluten-free option for the pizza at all. I understand gluten-free crust isn’t ever going to be a perfect texture, but this crust is comparable to cardboard.
I ordered the gluten-free penne with the vodka sauce this year and was pleased with my meal. All that to say - Mama Maria’s - if you happen to read these reviews PLEASE consider serving a new gluten-free...
