TLDR: A great restaurant in Dewey. A must-visit for anyone in the area. Food was great and so was the atmosphere. Prices were also great compared to other restaurants in the area. Overall extremely pleased and so was the rest of my party.
My gf’s family and I came here on a Tuesday night around 6:40 and had no wait. Although when we left around 8, there was a wait. I think there was like 4 parking spots next to the restaurant but those were filled so you have to find some near by. But the Hyatt has spaces that work with ParkMobile. There isn’t many spaces at the Hyatt, but there are more around. I just think that the Hyatt is the closest. Food took about 20 minutes to show up, but the appetizers showed up at the same time as the entrees.
Nachos (9/10): Huge portion on these. Comes in this huge bowl, and it’s enough for like 8 people’s appetizer. It tasted great. The pork was super tender. I find that lots of restaurants have the pork super dry when you order nachos but this was great.
Bacon wrapped pineapple (7/10): Solid appetizer. Loved the sweet taste and the sauce the came with it matched perfectly. Comes with 5 pieces.
Loco Moco (8/10): Was pretty good. In my opinion, without the hot sauce they have, this would’ve been lacking. I just think there wasn’t enough flavor in this meal. But with the hot sauce, it was good. I also don’t really think this is Wagyu. Or at least it doesn’t taste like it is.
Pad Thai (8/10): It was good, but not as good as what you’d have at an authentic thai place. It had a strong chicken broth taste to it. It might be all preference because I thought it wasn’t anything special but the GF liked it.
Coconut crab cake (7/10): Definitely something new that you don’t typically taste at other places. But there is a lot of filler in these crab cakes. I personally like more lump crab than filler but I get that’s hard with profit margins.
All in all, this place is now on our must-visit list for the beach. We really enjoyed it and are looking forward to the next...
Read moreNot only am I a local but my entire 6 person group was, we haven’t been to this location since Covid and after this experience I will NOT be back. We came in tonight for dinner and drinks. We ordered a “wipe out bucket” for the 6 of us since we haven’t gotten to experience this in such a long time. While the food and drinks tasted fine, the service, felt like we were an inconvenience. At the end we asked for the checks, we were told they would only split it per card instead of what we all ordered ( no big deal, we were accommodating…we have all been servers and/or bartenders for serval years before) after the checks were passed out the bucket had ice in it. The drink in the bucket was gone, instead of bothering the server again, one of us took it to the bar just to have the ice dumbed. We did not ask for it to be cleaned, just dumbed. So one of my group members went up with the bucket, she saw the bartender talking ( i would like to add, I was told he was a partial owner as well) she kindly said “excuse me” He looked at her and said “yeah no thank you”, rolled his eyes, then continued the conversation with the other guest while laughing at her. We were all confused, we were told we could just dump the remains of the ice before…she then said “excuse me” for the second time, to try to ask again. He then walked over rudely dumped the ice and gave her the bucket back and said “can I get back to my conversation now??” I get it. This industry is rough. The service we had at dinner made is uncomfortable but we were fine, no complaints but that experience with the bartender alone was enough for me to never return. I attempted to go back and thank him for being accommodating and dumping the ice but instead of a response that was professional we got “thanks for screaming in my ear”… Unprofessional, rude, and...
Read moreThis place used to be great. Not in tge last few years, though. Gave it one more chance this year. Sadly, I wasted time and money. The hostess and waitress were both good; very attentive and somewhat accommodating. Seating area was nice, and clean; nothing exceptional. Appetizers and entrees both come in healthy quantity. Edamame was delicious. That's where the positives end.
Quantity does not make up for lack of taste and quality. The food is "bleh," at best, and very overpriced for the quality. So-called "Lump Crab" Cheese Dip was bland and mostly cream and melted cheese, with one or two pieces of crab (not lump). We also got the Surf and Turf Burrito, which looks outstanding on paper, and it was a large sandwich. However, there was zero flavor. It was dull, dry, and on top of that, messy. I had to dip it in the edamame sauce just to make it even a little palatable. I ate half of it just for the sake of being polite. I requested my fries extra crispy. They came out soft and limp. Not a big deal. It's just fries, right? On the other hand, there's no excuse for not getting that right. I blame the cook AND the waitress. I asked the waitress for ketchup. It was 10 minutes before she remembered and finally delivered it. By that time, fries were cold and I was pretty much resigned to eating a sub-par meal. We also got tge BBQ Chicken Taco. Chicken was scarce and very dry. Again, very little flavor! And who wants overcooked dry chicken? Sorry, just very disappointed. I cannot recommend this place. There's plenty of better (and less expensive)...
