We are always surprised by just how delicious their food is and how welcome we feel every time we enter the restaurant. They have a lovely sunny location right near a trail which runs along Mill Creek. We’ve started getting breakfast on Sunday mornings and going for a stroll afterwards along the lush boardwalk at Mill Creek. We’re always amazed at how each dish we try is fresh, well cooked and well seasoned. We’ve gotten their buttermilk pancakes, which are pale and never overcooked with a delicious taste of buttermilk and real maple syrup. We’ve had their fruit cup on the side, which is a fresh blend of seasonal berries. We’ve gotten their DBH special, which is poached eggs with pesto on top of spinach and tomatoes somehow seasoned so that it tastes rich and complex. We’ve gotten their club sandwich and marveled at how a club sandwich could taste this good. We’ve gotten a salad with their homemade buttermilk dressing on it and wondered at how a dressing could taste so subtle and complex and yet so fresh. We’ve gotten a big breakfast with three breakfast meats, and been surprised at the generous portions and rich flavor in each of the meats. Today we couldn’t resist asking how they are able to make such remarkable food. The owner told us that he gets his breads from small local bakeries in the area, choosing the best bakery for each kind of bread. He told us how he often gets the berries for the fruit cups at the local farmers market and how he looks around to find the very best food for each thing he makes. This restaurant’s food inspired my friend to drive 5 miles out of his way before work every morning to get his breakfast sandwich...

From the moment we walked in, the staff made us feel incredibly welcome — genuinely friendly and attentive without ever being overbearing. The owner even came by to introduce himself, which added such a personal touch and made us feel valued as guests.

The food? Exceptional. Everything tasted fresh and homemade — from the bright, freshly squeezed orange juice to the incredible jams, preserves, gravy, and even the hollandaise sauce. The omelets were perfectly cooked, the crepes light and delicious, and every plate we saw coming out of the kitchen looked just as good. My husband loved it so much he ended up ordering two breakfasts!
