Huddle House — Restaurant in Dillsboro

We came back again today and things were much better. We were waited on fairly quickly, and the food was brought to us in a timely manner. The waitress was super nice and checked on us. Several times. The food was delicious.

Food was good my eggs were a little undercooked. The waitress was really nice and friendly. I do think they need a little more help though.

Follow up: We took a second trip here and I must say they really need some help. It took 10 minutes for us to get a table because none of them were clean. There was one waitress who was responsible for taking orders, cleaning tables, putting ice in the machines, taking food to the table, wrapping the silverware and I’m sure some more things that I forgot. There was another lady who was trying to help but she was also having to wash the dishes. There were two cooks and that was it. I did see a lady come from the back who looked like a manager. She was joking with one of the cooks and then she turned around, disappeared and never came back. Once we got our seat it took another 10 minutes for the waitress to take our order. Then our food sat in the window for another 10 minutes before the Cook spoke up and said someone needed to take it to our table. Of course the food was cooled off by this time. The food was good it would’ve been great if it was still hot. I do not consider it the waitresses fault as she has way too many responsibilities. They need someone to just clean the tables and wash the dishes. They need at least three waitresses. Until they get more staff I will not be returning.

We went into Huddle House at 12:30 & left at 2pm on Sunday. I understand that Sunday’s are going to be busier but first our server Our server was rude and impatient with us when taking our drink orders. I personally had asked for Chocolate Milk and instead of politely saying they were out. She impatiently says they were out and that they don’t have anymore. Then we continued to wait to receive our drinks for at least 10 minutes. Our server never once came and checked on us besides refilling our coffee once we received it. There were other guests that were trying to get servers attention just for syrup. A woman had to shout to get someone’s attention to bring her syrup she was even waving her arms around until a nice lady next to us gave her some. Other tables had empty cups waiting to be refilled due to the lack of service. We have came to the Dillsboro Huddle House numerous times and this seems to be a continuing problem at least on my behalf. We received our food and the grits had been sitting/cold so they were not the normal texture of grits, our hash brows were burnt, sausage was not fully cooked, and the pancakes were cold! We stopped for breakfast Sunday morning on our way home. The waitress was really nice. The food was awful. I guess if you didn’t know the cook you got your food when she felt like making it. People that came in after us received their food in a timely manner we waited over an hour for our food. I ordered ham and cheese omelette with hash browns and wheat toast what I got was a one egg omelette 1/4 cup of burnt hash browns and 1 slice of I don’t know what kind of bread that had to be stale when it was toasted it was really hard. My son in law got the stuffed hash browns and his food was burnt also my son ordered a western omelette with grits and a side order of biscuits and gravy his grits had so much butter he couldn’t eat them. My daughter ordered biscuits and gravy and her biscuit was so hard she just about couldn’t eat it. This was the worst food I ever ate at a huddle house. The of the waitresses was busting their butts only to have the cook slow everything down the table behind us got tired of waiting and walked out something was said to the cook about how the food was coming out and her response was they are getting the food ain’t they. SMH I will not eat at this huddle house again I will drive 20 miles out of my way before...
