My husband are troubled sleepers, so we get two rooms at hotels so that we can sleep. We checked in at 5:45 with an empty parking lot and I asked if we could be on the same floor and were told that it was impossible for us to be on the same floor. When I asked at the front desk, she said "we tried, but weren't able", I hadn't asked for a room on the same floor until that moment and the answer came in 2 seconds. I then called back down while looking at an empty parking lot and asked again to be moved to the same floor. And was told no, that the rooms were pre-assigned, to which I responded that you aren't even sold out and you are telling me that you don't have two rooms available on the same floor? And she said no. Mind you our total bill is $800+ for 2 NIGHTS! I asked for a Manager and was told that there isn't one available all weekend. To which (Miracele?) responded, I don't have anything available. Now, reminder, I am typing this at 6pm and here is a picture of the parking lot and I just logged onto the website before calling down because there are TONS of rooms available. 19 TYPES of rooms available and then none of them said that they were running low on any of those TYPES of rooms. I travel to Dodge a lot to visit my family and I will NOT be staying here again. What a welcome after a 5 hour drive! I am in the service industry and I don't typically get mad, but I am mad. In fact, this is the only negative review that I have ever written and I travel ALL...
Read moreThis is one of the best Holiday Inn Express hotels I've stayed at! Two things made it the best ... then everything else was cherry on top:
the BLACK OUT SHADES in the rooms are the roll down shades ... that means 99% of the window is covered!! Unlike the curtain type that always leaves the edge and middle section uncovered.
BREAKFAST was impressive. They had hard boiled eggs peeled and ready in the mini fridge, egg WHITE omelet, regular egg with cheese omelet, TWO different types of yogurts, and everything that's usually standard for continental breakfasts (e.g. muffins, toast, fruits, oatmeal, etc) interesting how different each Holiday Inn is since it's a chain.
Cherry on top: ** EXCELLENT customer service; from the front desk trainee and manager to the lady in charge of the breakfast area. ** They slip your receipt under your door so check out is quick and swift. ** The beds were super comfortable with soft AND firm pillows. I'm not sure why the other Holiday Inn's mattress wasn't as comfortable. 🤷♀️
Location: safety is fine. Lack of restaurant/ grocery store selections. Plus, my battery died and my credit card roadside assistance said they couldn't find a single tow company nearby that would provide battery jump start services. Only towing. AAA eventually came through. Phew.
Summary: if you're in the area, stay here! Side note: There's a water park...
Read moreThis fairly new facility provided a great gathering place for our local college reunion. The rooms were comfortable, the bed was excellent with a good assortment of pillow firmness. The breakfast was pretty standard, nothing was exceptional-- the hot foods were tepid and the cold selections were OK. Was disappointed that there was no iced tea or ice available at breakfast. The modern furniture was too low for aging knees nor did it have armrests to push on to get up. Meeting room was small but adequate. Towels were actually absorbent and didn't crunch due to too much soap and not enough rinse water. Front desk staff was very friendly and by and large accommodating but generally uninformed when it came to answering questions about restaurants, things to do, location of certain places and made no effort to find out or be helpful. I asked for a final statement to be sent to my email address but still have not received it and that was four days ago. The manager went out of her way to accommodate the smaller class gatherings that went well into the evenings and cleaning service women were friendly and polite. I spent three nights here and was generally pleased with the service and accommodations. I would certainly...
