El Toro Loco Steakhouse Tamiami — Restaurant in Doral

I am writing this review to bring to the attention of the owner and upper management of an incident that I experienced at this establishment. As a regular patron, I hope that this issue is addressed promptly so that it does not tarnish the reputation and future success of the establishment. Once the issue is resolved, I will be happy to update my review to reflect the 5-star rating that this establishment truly deserves.

On January 24, 2024, I visited Toro Loco and was seated at the bar. I ordered my food and enjoyed my lunch as always. However, when I asked for the check, I was informed that the payment system was down, and they were only accepting cash. I was asked to go to the Publix at the end of the plaza and use their ATM to retrieve cash so that I could pay my bill. I respectfully suggested that I have Google Pay and Apple Pay or that I come almost every day and would be happy to pay the following day. I also suggested leaving my phone number so that once the “system” was properly working, they could call me, and I would happily pay by phone.

The waitress talked to the manager and returned stating that it needed to be paid in cash because (again) the “system” was down. I asked to speak to the manager myself and told the manager that I was never informed of this “system” issue until the bill came and that leaving to go to an ATM and returning was not an option because the “system” issue is the establishment’s issue, not mine.

Long story short, the waitress volunteered to accept a Zelle payment to her own account and would pay the bill herself later. This was very nice of the waitress to do this, but I truly feel that the manager handled this wrong. And to ask or allow your employee / waitress to provide her number to a stranger is extremely irresponsible and potentially dangerous.

Note: This has happened before, but prior to being seated, I was informed that the “system” was down, and they were only accepting cash. I completely understood and decided to eat next door at the Peruvian restaurant.

I love Toro Loco and eat there about 3-5 times a week. The food is outstanding, and the staff is very attentive and professional. I recently had the pleasure of dining at Toro Loco Churrascaria, and it was nothing short of a 5-star experience. Kati was incredibly understanding and accommodating of my situation, going above and beyond to ensure my dining experience was not just comfortable but delightful. Her recommendations were spot-on, and her attentive, friendly service truly made our evening special.

Kati suggested the lobster bisque to start, and I must say, it was divine. The bisque was rich, creamy, and packed with flavor, providing a comforting start to the meal without being too heavy. It was the perfect choice for my sensitive state, and I savored every spoonful.

For dessert, Kati recommended their ice cream, promising it would be gentle on my recovery. It was creamy, smooth, and just the right touch of sweetness to end the meal on a high note. The ice cream was not only delicious but also a testament to Toro Loco’s commitment to quality and flavor.

I was following EL toro loco on IG for a few months them last Tuesday night I had the opportunity to go with my friend, I was immediately greeted by the super friendly staff and incredible aroma of the grill. The restaurant was filling up quickly but we managed to snag a table.

To start the feast we ordered the goat cheese croquetas with guava sauce, the cheesy yuca bites, and the Meat tostones

The Goat cheese croquetas is a must! the croqueta is perfectly executed and the combination of guava and goat cheese worked very well together.

The cheesy yuca bites are filled with Gouda cheese and served with the "Toro Sauce" super crispy outside and the gouda is melted to perfection inside. You need to try this appetizer.

The meat tostones can take you to your childhood in a blink of an eye, it is a latin party of pure goodness, the lechon was perfectly cooked and the signature sauce not overpowering. well balance of flavors!

For the main course, we decide to order the Picada Deluxe (Picanha, Churrasco, Lomo, Chorizo, Lamb Chops and Pork Belly) It was ordered medium rare. When our Picada arrived, our expectations continued to be exceeded.

Everything was at the right cooking temperature except for the lamb chops that came medium well but it was not a big deal form us. All the meats were packed with flavor. You can notice the quality of the meats after the first bite... The pork belly were little bombs of flavor, the sauce was robust but not overpowering.

To end our adventure we order the dessert: "Torrijas" The torrijas had a wonderful caramel crust that reminded me a creme brulee, the ice cream is served over a bed of cookie crumbs that bring a crispy texture to the dish. Is a dreamy melt-in-your-mouth party
