You know how people say "If I can give it less than one star, I would".. well, this is quite the opposite. If I can give it more than 5, I would. Let me tell you about my experience there. First of all, I found this place on google right by where I work. I wanted a new place I could take my boyfriend to so we could celebrate his birthday. I made a reservation through OpenTable but looking through their official website, I decided to call in and upgrade the reservation to the dine and play (dont remember if thats what its called but essentially, after you're done eating they put you at the top of the bowling wait list). Melanie answered the phone and right away shes incredibly cheery and polite and quickly changes our reservation. Already leaving me with a pretty good feeling about this place. So my bf and I overestimate how long it would take us to get there and we end up getting there 20 minutes before our reservation. At the front desk, it was Melanie who greets us and remembers me from the phone call. She was adorable. Lets us know that if we need anything, to let her know and right away sits us down at this corner booth that overlooks the whole place. Which was nice, as we are first timers. Our waiter comes; Sebastian, and he is all smiles and again you could tell that the staff has been trained very well. They give you the feeling that even on a bad day for them, they will still smile and act polite. We order a round of drinks and some apps and our main meal. I kid you not, our food was at our table less than 10 minutes after that. Everything perfectly cooked and delicious. The wantons were so yummy as was their 4 cheese pasta (might be 3 cheese lol I dont recall) My bf got the tuna bites. I dont like fish at all but he wanted me to try them and they were really yummy. Color me impressed xD He also got the jambalaya which was great. Another round of drinks and dessert and we were done. Everything was so different, taste wise. Everything was fresh and perfectly made. The whole time, Sebastian and Melanie have come around and asked us if things were good for us, which they were. We were blown away by this place. When they bill came, I went to pay. Sebastian came back and in the most polite way told us to call the bank because it had been declined. It was no problem, as I suspected it would happen because my bank seems to think every new place I go to is a scam. Sometimes it works in my favor but nothing a 2 minute call wont fix to let them know this place was safe. Sebastian wrung it up again and that was that. 25% of our bill was like $20. I tipped $30. My bf and I like trying out new places all the time. We travel Europe and the US and I kid you not, we have never received better customer service. Did I mention I have a culinary degree and have done internships at high end restaurants and even then, I have never met a friendlier staff. The atmosphere itself is fantastic. Dim lights and chill but fun music. Things are cozy but classy. They were running a special for bowling. We jumped on that deal. The lanes were clean, the bowling balls were readily available. We had this large family on the other side of us which we ended up cracking jokes with after I accidentally let a ball roll backwards towards my bf. (No one got hurt, it was too gentle and slow and my bf stopped it before it reached anyone else). I know that other people arent part of the restaurant, hahah but they were in such a good mood that I'm going to add bonus points to this place too x)
Overall, this place went above and beyond and now we want to bring all our friends there.
Thanks for making my bfs birthday so special, Melanie and Sebastian....
Read moreDear Kings Dining and Ent. management team, Unfortunately my recent visit last Saturday July 7th to the Doral location was ruined by one the cashiers at the front when she charged my card with someone else opened tab and not only that but she gave it to them which is fraud and stilling. Where is your guest privacy and security procedures. There was no ID verification at the beginning neither at the end according to the manager on duty. It all looks like the cashier was involved in these fraudulent transactions. When I went to close my account they couldn't find my credit card which I was told upon arrival that I had to provide a credit card to hold my pool table and pay with another card the server for my consumption. What is this? It all seems like you are already inconveniencing your customers from the beginning. Fine, I gave my card but only to find out that my card was given to another customer and charged me for all their consumption. I spoke to a manager after waiting approximately 25 minutes because according to one of the front desk agent both managers were looking at the cameras. Really? why do I have to wait for them to look at the cameras. First, It is not my mistake but yours. Second, solve my issue then do your investigation to address and fix this with your employees but I should not be waiting for anyone at that point. Someone by name Samuel shows up to explain that they had charge with my card someone else table and time there. He was planing to just give me his business card so he could fix this latter as if his business card means a refund and answer to this issue. He tried saying that we would reverse the charges at the end of the day. really? you are not talking to an ignorant individual in this business. Merchant charges wont reverse by itself without processing an adjustment of the charges and then a refund. Since I couldn't buy his answer he finally brought another guy who said to be the manager. He confirmed that two credit cards were not necessary and that the server could have come to the front to charge us for the subsumption. Which makes It all look as planed by the cashier. He then offered an apology which was not even offered before and said that he only had two options. Refund the charges if we had the card number but obviously that is not possible because they had given it to the wrong individual or call their merchant and try to refund the charges later. Then they realized they could refund one of the charges $66.10 but not the second one. He then said he will try to fix it or I could dispute with the credit card. This person has clearly no customer service experience to offer this to a customer that had enough inconvenience due to something him and his team is completely responsible and not having the delicacy to offer a compensation is even worse. Today i am checking my account hoping that he will be a manager and man by his word and promise but NO I see the $66.10 he refunded in my presence but the $113.25 was settle and never refunded. Yes, there are more that the two options that he gave us. He could have refund the 2nd charge to another of our cards or just refund us in cash. Giving an immediate solution could have changed our opinion for this place and giving a small compensation as simple as offering a water or a drink while he was solving the situation would have smoothed it all. Poor management and customer service skill is what was shown instead. This is enough of an awful experience to encourage you reading this to think twice before visiting this location. Hope they address this issue with this location soon to ensure it doesn't happen again to another...
Read moreDined on a Saturday afternoon with my family. Jessica our server was very pleasant and she helped with making the dining experience better as she was well informed on the menu offerings and made good recommendations. She also checked in on us at the right time to see if we needed anything else etc. She also provided information about the bowling, pool and dominoes. We didn’t check that out but the overall ambiance of the restaurant was good. The prices are reasonable in comparison to other restaurants that may have a similar menu and located in the up and coming high end Doral.
If you have a palate for rum, they do have a rum menu; a bit pricey and is a listing of several international rums to select from. I tried a Guatemalan rum which was decent but similar to other rums from the Caribbean.
Now, for the meals themselves, I can say they were not the best we have ever had and were average at best. My eldest son ordered a classic burger with cornbread and hubby ordered the bourbon bbq bacon burger. Fries did not accompany the burger hubby ordered and would be an additional order if he wished to have it. Found that the kitchen was not very consistent with the preparation of the burgers. Though both were well done “no pink”, hubby’s burger was very dry and the bourbon bbq aspect was also missing. The cornbread on a scale of one to ten, with ten being the highest earned a 0.5. My eldest son’s burger was pretty good. It was moist, lettuce and tomato was also fresh and he liked the sauce that was added. Size wise they were about the size of a Wendy’s junior burger and not shareable. My younger boys ordered from the childrens menu (childrens menu prices were between $5.99 and $6.99) a grilled cheese sandwich , which is served with fries and the menu states you can swap out the fries for fresh veggies; specifically celery, cucumber and carrot serves with ranch) and pasta with marinara on the side. The grilled cheese sandwich was yummy, the pasta seems to have been re-heated. Didn’t taste like freshly made pasta, instead it tasted more like a pack picked up from Walmart, cooked al dente and poured into a bowl, no drizzle of olive oil to add flavor, very basic would not order again.
Recommended by Jessica was the baja grilled chicken wrap, this was pretty good. She has mentioned it was a bit spicy but being a lover of spicy foods, I felt no spicy kick. Regardless it was a great selection and I enjoyed it thoroughly. Jessica had asked if we were enjoying our meal, I did inform her that our least favorite item was the cornbread and she did ask us to share our thoughts as to why we didn’t like it so she could inform the chef.
They do have a desert menu which we didn’t try as time was against us. I do believe the restaurant is worth a second visit. Our bill was below $70, which was good considering. Wait time for food was approximately...
