TLDR: Overall this was a hugely negative experience. Smelly place, deceptive cocktail prices since they are not listed (over $21 per drink), poor service with automatic 18% tip (we didn’t get our drinks until near end of show). Save your money and watch some YouTube or Netflix special at home it’s not worth it.
I was in a party of 3 people. One person went to the bathroom before the show started but within that two-minute window, the waiter showed up. So, we asked the waiter to wait for the third person to come back to take our orders. The waiter responded they would be back in a minute. Despite that, the waiter didn’t come until well into the third cómics routine (tonight there was a 1 opener and 4 comics that were touring together). During the second comics routine I had asked another waiter if they can take our order but they responded they would get our waiter, who then arrived at the previously mentioned time. We were literally ignored most of the night as everyone else around us had their drinks and even their food! It was so apparent that even the second comic made multiple acknowledgements that our table had not received any drinks. Eventually toward the end of the night we managed to get our order in and get our drinks after flagging down the waiter. By the end of the show we received the bill only to find that the cocktails are priced at $21.XX each (2 coming out to $43 and some change). The menu doesn’t even list the price for the cocktails. This is Doral, not LIV or some south beach club. On top of that, our party was planning on ordering some food to soak up the alcohol but the smell of the place was awful, like a wet dog that was soaked in vinegar. We sat on the right side facing the stage and the wafts of this smell was so consistent that we lost our appetite. This establishment deceptively does not list their cocktail prices so that you order them thinking they would be reasonably priced, but no, with the two drink minimum, you are footed with an outrageous price with a mandatory 18% gratuity as a slap in the face when we received poor service. The tickets themselves cost $22 PLUS service fees and tax. I don’t mind paying for a ticket, the comics are usually pretty funny and they need to get paid, but when you tack on a service fee, include deceptive overpriced drinks with a 2 drink minimum, and then charge an automatic 18% tip on top of very poor service, you’re guaranteeing you’re never going to get repeat business. This is why businesses end up failing in Miami and closing. Over charge, get short term gains, and lose long term customers. Good luck trying to maintain this business. It’s such a shame because improv clubs should be a more accessible and popular place that the local community should gather to support, laugh, and listen to all sorts of comics. Yet, the practices of the establishment completely shaft the patrons, which cause the comics (and their career/livelihood) to suffer. Despite being a Saturday night, the place was pretty empty, which is unsurprising considering the experience I have detailed and the other reviews on here. I hope the culture could changed. 2 stars only because the comics...
Read moreIf I could give this pace less stars I would. Went there for a show that was great! My server ruined my night. She was absolutely rude. Nobody should have to pay a minimum of two drinks where that policy is not explained anywhere. When you buy the tickets it does not say anything. When they check your tickets and go inside they don’t say anything either. When we finally sat the welcome that the server gave us was: what are you going to drink. I answer that just water, we just sat and had not even look at the menu. She said to me NO you need to ask for at least 2 drinks per person. I only told her that that was fine, but that we want it water first. I started looking in the tickets in the outside of the place and they don’t have any of this information. I decided to ask to another girl and she was rude as well she basically told me that security was going to take me out if I didn’t ask for drinks. Because the information was EVERYWHERE (not even in the entrance) I ask her to please call the manager or just show me where that information was? She just disappeared.
The first server comes again WITHOUT THE WATERS, to ask for the drinks and I told her that I didn’t understand why? If this information was never said by anyone before her. She told me that if I want her to call security... or the manager? I ask her to please call the manager.
They ended up calling a person who was working with the comedy group and not really with the local. She was very nice, calm and explained that, that is the local policy. I told her that I understand. That they are wrong for not having that information on the tickets or ANYWHERE and she told me that it was true and she apologized for how rude the servers where. She was the only nice person with a good costumer service in this place that talked to me. This is probably because she does not work for the local.
I have to say that the persons next to me did not want it to drink they were asking if they could ask for food instead of drinks and the server told them NOT THE FOOD DOES NOT MATTER YOU HAVE TO DRINK. They end up asking for the cheapest drink and not food. We went there with the idea of drinking and eating. Everyone in my tables were expecting to drink and eat something but this server was horrible, she made this local loose money this night and probably every night.
We did not ask or paid for any drink or food. At the end nobody called the manager, she just kept walking around us and knocking out chairs.. like a child. She never brought the waters.
I have to say that I understand the policy. But is not the customers problems that third party’s don’t put all the information, or that your employees don’t give you the information in the entrance. This is something that the local - show person have to discuss and organize properly.

Read moreThis place is a disaster to say the least, that treat their customers poorly with arrogance, discrimination and lot of disrespect. I had the worst night and the worst experience at a club in my whole life. I went to Miami Improv to attend Mo Amer's Comedy show and like everyone paid around over $100 to enjoy my night and have good laugh, I left the place about to cry and extremely sad from the way I was discriminated against and mistreated and disrespected from the so called "manager" and so called "security". A lady came to me wearing normal civilian clothes not even gaurd came and told me "if you took photos, I will kick me out of the place". I understand and respect the no photo policy but there are plenty of ways to deliver the message instead of randomly coming to someone dining and having fun to tell them you will kick them out of the place. I didn't even take a photo or video I barely raised my phone when the comedian has just made an entrance. I respected her command but her attitude and behavior continued after the show has ended , she followed us while we are doing normal, like taking a photo with a banner like the whole room did. When I politely asked her to respect clients because they are source of profit and there are plenty of ways to deliver a message , her answer was" I don't care about your opinion, they mean nothing to me". I asked to speak to a manger, instead of listening and trying to find a resolve she strated making fun of my hand expression in a very arrogant . there is a whole difference between law enforcement, creating order and being rude to your customers and clients. especially that I did nothing against any law or opposing their will. The manager and security were extremely rude , and discriminative with people , allowing some to take photos in the place and enjoy their nights and others not. They created drama and aggression out of nothing, with no reason or purpose.I didn't oppose or push back their request, yet they insisted to make a fuss refusing to listen or fairly judge. in fact they are simply poorly trained on how to handle situations and create a balance between pleasing the customer and creating order. Their behavior provokes aggression، disturbance and turbulence, rather than solves problems. I was told that Mo amer asked for no photos which is understandable and make sense but I wonder if he also asked that his audience world be treated in a disrespectfully, as you can't joke about TSA, airport security and how paranoid and discriminative they are while you yourself enforces paranoia, fear and discrimination in a...
