Piccola Pizzeria was excellent and exceeded my expectations. It's not a secret that good pizza is a rare find in South Florida. I'm happy to try all sorts of pizzas but this one will definitely be my home for anything pizza and pasta related. It's a small place that seats maybe 3-4 couples, but I can definitely see them expanding rapidly if they keep serving up goodness. The pricing is fair and to me worth every penny. The dough was light and tasty with the right amount of crisp and not drowning in sauce or grease. The cheese and pepperoni stand out in flavor but work very well together and I can only assume it's because they are fresh quality ingredients. We had the tagliatelle with mushrooms, truffle and butter, as well as the fettuccine a la carbonara. Pasta was al dente and, again, not drowning in sauce or grease. Although the carbonara had a perfect ratio of panceta to pasta, the bites that did not have panceta you could still taste it's flavor bouncing off the pasta and sauce. Not a fan of mushrooms but the tagliatelle made me a believer that I could order pasta with just mushrooms and be extremely satisfied and happy. They also have an olive oil infused with hot peppers that you can drizzle of anything and that I did! We ended our night with tiramisu because why not! It did not disappoint but for me, the shinning star was definitely the pasta and the pizza, which is the bread and butter of any authentic...
Read moreTo All the locals and also the travelers staying at some of the hotels in the area: You've got to try this gem of an Italian resturant! It's small with only a half a dozen tables, but it seems we can always get seated. Their pizza here is brick oven fired and is absolutely THE BEST, anywhere! I'm an old Jersey boy, and both of us have traveled extensively. We know good pizza! You've got to come here! Note: There are 2 of these restaurants, but this is THE ONE! (Im sure the other one is good, too). They have incredible appetizers. Try the three favor bruisetta. OMG, sooooo delicious!!! Wow! There are many specialty pizzas. I want to try them all....traditional, white, various original toppings.... We order a cheese pizza for ourselves to share, but it's the perfect size if you want one for yourself. The thin crust, the succulent tomato sauce, and fresh basil, mozzarella, and any flavor you want makes you want to try them all. They have Italian dishes, too. We bring a bottle wine as it's a BYOB place. They'll open it and provide the nice wine glasses. If you are a traveler, please don't miss this one. We come to the area on business every month. This is our third time here, and I can very strongly recommend eating here. You will love it! BTW: Gabriella is a most wonderful server. And, you can watch your pizza be made right in front of you. See her picture below (I received her...
Read moreI had the pleasure of discovering a charming Italian restaurant in Doral. It's a very small place with a cozy vibe, complete with a beautiful wooden oven where an Italian from Naples works his magic crafting authentic Italian pizzas. The service was top-notch, friendly and attentive. While they didn't have their wine selection ready yet, you can bring your own bottle. But let's talk about the pizza, it was absolutely mouthwatering! This place has become my new favorite pizza spot in Doral, even though the location isn't the best. It's like a hidden treasure in a not-so-pretty street mall. Despite that, it's definitely worth a visit, and I'm giving this genuine Italian pizzeria a well-deserved...
