I rated overall this restaurant as one star mostly because of the service, not friendly the person who took our order and the place is not tidy, it is unorganized where the tables to eat are and not very clean. The food was very good, but not the empanadas, they were a disappointment. But what really got me from this place, is that not only do they charge 4% extra for paying with a credit card (which I know there are some places in Miami that started to do this), but then they charge you a 10% service charge extra. When I asked the person who took our order she said it was to cover the cost of eating in(plates, utensils). Seriously? This place gave us plastic utensils and not the best quality by the way, the soda and water came in a bottle. The only thing was the plastic plate where the food came. I told her, I had never seen this in any restaurant I've eaten in Miami. She got a little huffy puffy and said that restaurants do it. Maybe in Miami Beach, but never seen it in Miami. Bare in mind that this is hole in the wall place. It's not a nice sit down restaurant by all means, it's a little shop with a counter where they have the empanadas and you put your order. It's ridiculous to charge that and then you give them a tip (which I gave them 18%, not knowing about these extra charges) to bring you plastic plates and disposable utensils and paper napkins. Wow their expense for having a customer eat in is expensive (being sarcastic). One time place to eat, never again. If they continue doing this kind of things, I do not forsee a good future...
Read moreThe only thing we have had here are the empanadas, but to be fair their empanadas are advertised on every one of their windows on a large sign that advertise $1 empanadas all day every day. This place has other items but we don’t know how they are so try at your own discretion. Their empanadas are affordable, however they are a little on the small size but they make up for that In taste. Each empanada is booming in flavor. We have had the beef empanada both shredded and ground. Honestly, it was hard to pick a favorite between the ground and the shredded beef because they were both so good. They were both so good that it was hard to branch out and try anything else they had. The empanadas came with a garlic dipping sauce that was phenomenal. When ordering the empanadas they always ask if you want the sauce and we definitely recommend giving it a try. The only concern is don’t get these empanadas to go and leave them on your passenger seat of the car; these empanadas get put in a paper bag and definitely have some grease to them. I will say though that we eat these right away and they never make it home. We’ve had these more times than we can count because we get them every time we do laundry across the street while visiting here in Florida. The staff appear to speak mainly Spanish, however they are super nice and despite our speaking English were able to figure out our order...
Read morePIECE OF GLASS IN MY EMPANADA.
I bought some empanadas for my employees and I, as i started eating them and was biting into one of them, a sharp piece of CLEAR GLASS was literally INSIDE the empanada. when i went back to tell them, they acted like i was exaggerating "oh its just a small piece" and on top of that. when i asked them to get my money back the lady said "ok you bought 12 empanadas but i will only refund you for the 8 you brought back" literally after i stabbed the back of my mouth with one of their empanadas.
i know accidents happen, but after seeing the reviews and the way they handle their customers, i can tell this is clearly something regular. not recommended, dirty, cheap, and the worst...
