Here's a different perspective of what this restaurant is like right now. I have to say that I love the food. Most of the time, we order from Uber Eats. When we decide to dine in, it's usually packed, and I've previously experienced long waits to be acknowledged and to receive service. I often justified this because of the restaurant's busyness.
Yesterday, I decided to visit right after work to enjoy the food in person. Unfortunately, I encountered the same poor service. There was only one other table occupied besides ours. We sat down, received the cornbread, but for at least 10 minutes, no one came to bring water or even acknowledge us.
Despite making eye contact with a server (I believe it was Andrea, who helped us before), she continued cleaning tables and ignored us. My boyfriend and I decided to leave. There's no need to spend money where customers are taken for granted and not appreciated.
Reviews and repeat customers make this place what it is today, but the experience is not consistent. I want others to know this because I'm sure many people in the area love this place as well.
This is the previous feedback I left, around early July when we went to dine in:
Good food! Though it took a while to get someone to come to our table, after Andrea came to introduce herself as our server she was quick to shift the...
Read moreMy experience was a dine in situation and it was horrible. I waited 1:45 hour(s) for a veggie sushi roll. As I sat there after about an hour I got agitated and went up and asked why it takes over an hour to make a veggie sushi roll. The manager was also there on his phone just watching it all play out. He later came to my table and apologized after realizing that they never even made our sushi rolls. He gave every excuse in the book for bad customer service. We wanted to leave and just cancel the rolls but he insisted on giving us these rolls. Two minutes later after I said something my sushi came out. It’s sad that a customer has to stand up for themselves when they are just trying to eat at an establishment. The sushi was falling apart and was lackluster compared to the other locations. I’ve attached a picture of the sushi that’s falling apart which never happens in the other location. The manager did say all his staff were new however, it isn’t rocket science to be a decent person and show authentic compassion for someone and respect their time schedule. Also no one was being trained they were just talking among themselves and eating krispy Korean donuts. I swear I can not make this sh** up. Do yourselves the favor and just check out a different sushi place so you don’t...
Read moreI had a disappointing experience at Sokai Sushi Bar Doral, which unfortunately warrants only a one-star rating from me. The food did not live up to my expectations, and there were significant issues with both the presentation and taste.
Firstly, one of the plates I ordered looked nothing like it did in the photo on the menu. The dish was not as visually appealing or appetizing as advertised, which was disappointing and misleading.
Additionally, I specifically requested that the ceviche not be spicy, but unfortunately, it arrived at the table with a noticeable kick of heat. This oversight in accommodating my dietary preference was frustrating and detracted from my overall dining experience.
Given these discrepancies and the lack of attention to detail, I have decided that I will not be returning to Sokai Sushi Bar Doral. When dining out, I expect accuracy in both presentation and customization of dishes, and unfortunately, this establishment fell short of meeting...
