Taikin, a Japanese fusion restaurant that I have mispronounced a billion times but I can spell it flawlessly. Offering a range of delicious Japanese cuisine with their own flare.
The moment you step in, it feels like you are entering another word. Beautiful interior design, and especially during the holiday season, they really make the restaurant come alive and feel spirited. I was lucky enough to pass by during Halloween and the entire staff was extremely friendly wearing cool costumes while the entire restaurant was practically covered in Halloween decor which I am all about.
They also practice social distancing with each table being around 6 feet apart, as well as a full sanitation of the table after every client would leave. The entire staff was also wearing masks and gloves which was pretty awesome. While also delivering contactless menus that could be found pasted on every table.
Quick tip: I had no signal within the restaurant as did most of my party. But thankfully they happen to provide their own wifi which helps a ton!
Ok back to our scheduled programming, THE FOOD. Absolutely mind blowing. I started off with a few appetizers like the Shrimp lollipops (which were fried shrimp on a stick. Super crunchy but not overly greasy which was phenomenal) and the fried dumplings(which were stuffed with lomo steak and battered in the special brown sauce. It was pretty good, a little to hard for my liking but overall flavorful). For the main course I ended up with a classic, the Dragonroll (OOO MANNN, I don’t know how to describe how perfect this was. This is what basically sold me to come back and try more sushi. The shrimp was perfectly crunchy and flavorful, the ingredients were all super fresh, and even the rice was noticeably fluffy and sticky AT THE SAME TIME) and the Baby back ribs( they fell off the bone, a bit on the sweet side, but the meat was extremely tender)
Overall incredible experience, and I can’t wait to go back again with the family.

Read moreFrom the moment we walked into Taikin in Doral, we knew we were in for something special. The ambiance strikes the perfect balance between elegant and welcoming, with a relaxed vibe that makes it easy to unwind and truly enjoy the moment. Whether you’re here for a romantic evening, a night out with friends, or celebrating something meaningful, Taikin delivers on all fronts.
But what truly made our experience unforgettable was the incredible service.
Our server, Leo, was an absolute professional — attentive, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable about the menu. He made excellent recommendations and ensured every detail of our meal was perfect without ever being intrusive. He struck that rare balance of being present without hovering — something that’s hard to find these days.
Pedro, the manager, was also phenomenal. He made the effort to personally check in with us multiple times throughout the evening, making sure that everything exceeded our expectations. His presence and genuine care elevated the experience even further — you can tell he leads by example and truly cares about guests having a memorable time.
And we can’t forget to mention Dani, whose warmth and energy added even more to an already excellent evening. Dani made us feel right at home, bringing an extra touch of friendliness and good vibes to the table. It really felt like the whole team was in sync, working together to create not just a meal, but a memorable experience.
The food was simply outstanding. Every dish was beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. From start to finish, it was clear that attention to detail and quality is a top priority here. You can taste the passion in every bite.
We left completely satisfied — not just with the meal, but with the entire experience. Taikin isn’t just another trendy spot in Miami. It’s a place where hospitality, flavor, and atmosphere come together flawlessly.
We’ll absolutely be back, and we’ll be telling everyone we know to...
Read moreFood is amazing! The vibe is amazing. I just need to give this place a 2 out of 3 chance before I can land on a truly honest review and not judge based on what is possibly a fluke.
My first visit here with a friend of mine was amazing! Her sister had recommended the place. My second visit was very underwhelming for my guests and myself which was sad because I had hyped the place up to them. For starters, we went for the Miami Spice event but were told that the Spice menu was not avaliable for the night we went, but I wasn't aware of that. (More on that in a minute) We had all looked at the Spice menu ahead of time and were anticipating experienceing that. Needless to say, we had to readjust our expectations, and when you have younger diners (teens) in the mix it can get tricky. The waitress became impatient because we didn't place an order fast enough. She barely checked on our table, and the food runners were poorly informed. The food wasn't as amazing as my first visit. The chicken in the noodles was dry, the corvina could have been better, the sushi was delicious. The table we were seated at was wonderful for people watching. Which brings me to my other point about the Spice menu and day. The same friend I visited with the first time made a repeat visit on the SAME night as I did and got seated at the table right in front of us! It was purely a wonderful coincidence. When I spoke with her later that night she told me that the restaurant honored the Spice menu for them. The SAME waitress attended her, they got wonderful service from her, but my table got subpar. They got the Spice menu experience, we were told "sorry, no". Not encouraging. All in all, it was a half and half experience which boiled down to just enjoying the company you're with. Like I said, I'll be trying this place out at least one more time because of my wonderful...
