Tropical Smoothie Cafe — Restaurant in Doral

What a disappointment today 10/06/2020 around noon when I visited the Tropical Café located in Gateway Plaza Doral. I waited for 15 mins standing in front of the register waiting for someone to take my order. Despite of the fact that five people were working at the place no body had the courtesy of taking my order. I asked one of the employees preparing an smoothie if someone can help and she reply that soon someone will help me, still I waited 10 more mins and nobody came. I asked her again and then with a bad attitude she called someone, a lady arrived and I questioned her about the waiting time and she responded stating that she was sorry but busy. I left the place without ordering any food and very upset because of the unprofessional way they managed the situation. I suggest that order ahead of time and even better avoid going there. Last week something happened too; I ordered and smoothie and after 15 mins waiting I asked for it and the employee realized my order was still in the register. I would never go back to this place. Wow I'm not a big reviews type of guy but today's experience at the doral location kinda deserves this few minutes. I visit this location 3 times a week . Today I was in a bit of a rush . I got there and I really thought I'd be in for a wait(there was only ONE person doing food and the drinks) . But the young man with the short hair and cuts in his eyebrows(sorry I missed your name buddy 😢)took care of the line quickly and very efficiently, interactive, made us laugh and my smoothie and wrap tasted amazing . For a new employee he seems very knowledgeable about the products he's using . Explained to me what turbunato was, I always thought they used regular sugar but I asked about it and he actually took the time to give me an explanation. Mind you he was alone in the store but me and the few people in line all felt his passion. In fact 2 of us walked out at the same time and both commented about how nice he was. Ordered a Thai Salad with chicken (extra chicken). I'm glad I ordered extra chicken because I cant imagine what the regular portion would look like. (1/4 breast?). Outside of the fact that the amount of chicken was unacceptable; the salad itself was pathetic. About a cup of cheap lettuce and some celery shavings. Basically, I would have been better off going to Wendy's across the street. It would have been cheaper and the quality would have been on par. Three friends got sandwiches that looked like a giant fat bun with one slice of meat in it. Overall, not coming back. Revision: I like to be give places a second chance. I have gone back twice and can say the smoothies are good quality smoothies. I had a Thai wrap that was decent and the kale and apple side is pretty good.
