Rice Mediterranean Kitchen Doral — Restaurant in Doral

I love the food at Rice, always have. I no longer live in Miami so make sure to have it every time I’m back. Foodwise, today’s visit was no exception.

Having not been to this location/the new version of rice (before they did bowls), it was hard to tell where to order so we assumed we had to get in line where the Covid stickers pointed. Turns out that was the bowl building side inside of the kebab ordering side, which we only noticed since groups of people during the lunch rush went to the til and started ordering ahead of us. A little frustrating—I do wish there were some signs indicating where to order what to save new customers some frustration on their first visit, but not a huge deal. The girl behind the counter acted like we should’ve guessed where to order based on the menu position. Ok. We eventually ordered and the cashier who took our order was nice & helpful.

When we were waiting for our food, I noticed some signs advertising their new app and wanted to check it out while we waited. Since I no longer live in Miami I have no phone plan here, but noticed they had 2 WiFi networks so asked if I could please have the password. The girl behind the counter at first said no, then I think went to check with someone in the back and still came back and said no. Not really sure why you’d have a Wi-Fi network named the name of your restaurant if you don’t intend to let customers use it. At the end of the day I guess I won’t be using their app. 🤷‍♀️

So today’s experience was less than perfect. But that being said, the food was...

We placed a catering order to celebrate two birthdays in our office and it was a great experience from beginning to end. The order was ready when we went to pick it up. The store manager was very kind and helped us load the large order into our car and the whole staff was friendly and helpful. The food was even better, we received praise from the whole office group for choosing them and we have a variety of pallets and tastes, from your healthiest eater to the pickiest eater, everyone enjoyed the perfectly cooked basmati rice with the delicious sumac dressing. The tenderloin kabobs were a hit and so were the other two protein choices, the shredded chicken and the shredded beef. The sides were just as good, the greek salad had tons of yummy feta cheese and we had a very generous portion of hummus and pita bread. It was a smash hit overall and I'm looking forward to catering from them again....

2nd update! So they asked me to delete my bad review. When i didn't, they deactivated the gift card! Now not only does this place gladly sell molding food, they try to force you into keeping quiet by only offering a partial refund if I remove the reviews.

HORRRRRRIBLE UPDATE: so they contacted me, ignored me for 7 days, then sent a $40 gift card and demanded I remove my reviews..... talk about UNETHICAL AND SHADY BUSINESS!!!!!! PHOTOS ATTACHED. They even sent me the link to one 🥴🥴🥴

I could vomit, literally. I spent over $100 on food for it to all arrive with a MOLDY container of hummus. I don't know about you, but I'm not eating anything that came in the same bag as that, and unfortunately all the food was in 1 bag. I called them 3 times, no answer after ten minutes each time. Absolutely pathetic restaurant. If you're prefilling your hummus then PLEASE MAKE SURE ITS NOT...
