The food was pretty good. We had cheese dip, guacamole, fajitas, Mexican pizza with steak, and the kids cheese pizza and chicken tenders.
The cheese dip was cold, but fine. I would have enjoyed the tableside guacamole better, but it is only served Monday- Thursday. The ready made one available could use a little more ingredients, it's basically just mashed avocado. The fajitas were good, not served sizzling and piping hot but good. It came with all the meats including sausage, almost like a molcajete without the roux and bowl. The Mexican pizza with steak was tasty, full of flavor. Enjoyed it. We got the ultimate margarita, skinny jalapeño margarita, and a classic skinny margarita. They all tasted like club soda. I get club soda to reduce sugar content for a skinny rita, but it should be a splash. Not tasting fresh lime or lime premix in a rita is just off. We tried to return the classic and ultimate margaritas in exchange for a beer, but were told they cannot return alcohol. So the manager remade the drinks and they were much better. Our waitress was cold and unattentive. She wasn't rude by any means, but didn't hold traditional service manners. For instance, when she greeted us to take our drink order we told her we were starting with water. Then we flagged her down to place our drink order. 2 of the 3 adults gave our order and she left to attend another table. We had to flag her back down so everyone could complete their drink order. It was odd. She was on the move and if you didn't speak up in unison, she whisked off. We nicknamed her track star. The private dining area had a live band and the main dining area had music playing loudly. It is pretty loud. My sensory sensitive son was not overstimulated. He put his fingers in his ears when we first walked in, but adjusted well. There is a pool table and games in the rear of the restaurant. One of the LED lights above the pool table is about to go and flickering, my son was fixed on it. LOL! Overall, place is good for an active date for Latin music lovers. It gives a place to turn up and have some fun. Food was good, cannot recommend Jimmy's for margaritas. Too many other places nearby with ritas that will knock...
Read moreStopped in to give Jimmy's a try and found the spot to be just ok in my experience. The location has its own free parking lot on the same property as the restaurant and there's plenty of it available. The atmosphere on my visit was less than stellar for a couple of reasons. 1st was not a big deal but I could do without it. There was a lady going around interrupting diners to request they take a photo. Like I said, not a big deal but I'm here to enjoy libations, not take photos nor be interrupted by anyone other than my server. 2nd reason is the restaurant has a private room to the right upon entering and there were probably 10 or less folks in there with rock music BLASTING. Now the restaurant has tons of TV's all around so it's not quiet by any means but this rock music was by far the loudest. The rest of the atmosphere is pretty cool though and they have plenty of games inside for you or potentially your kids to enjoy. Service was great and our server was very attentive and knowledgeable.
Onto the most important part, the meal. Their drinks are pretty reasonably priced and very delicious. Ultimate Watermelon and Pina Colada purchased this visit and both were banging. By far the best thing this restaurant has to offer in my opinion. For food, the complimentary chips and salsa is by far the worst I've had in the area. I know it's complimentary but cold chips with no seasoning in 2025? They can do better. Main food was Fish Tacos and Shrimp Fajitas and both were mid at best. Nothing spectacular or outstanding about the fish tacos but they weren't disgusting either. I was told the shrimp fajitas lacked seasoning and didn't taste like much. So the food was just ok. Dessert purchased was called Cheesecake Xangos and it was fine as well but won't blow you away. Warmed cheesecake wrapped and covered in cinnamon and topped with whip cream. This was the best edible part of the meal in my opinion.
All in all, definitely come for the drinks but the food likely won't blow you away if you've been to a variety of restaurants before. Give them a try if this is...
Read moreCouldve been alot better. Place looks great. Could look more sanitary but its a pretty big decent size restaurant. Workers were very nice too. My issue was just personal. Im allergic to diff things now so need to be cautious. Waiters should learn menus without having to come back & forth a few times and know what wheat, gluten, dairy, etc items. Ive asked for tortilla chicken soup plenty times in many mex restaurants and its usually a typical pico de gallo with tortillas ontop. I requested no tortilla because i am allergic to wheat flour dairy etc. I got back as u see inthe pict a real tortilla soup lol. I have never had it this way. Ever. It was a bit spicy. Not that bad in taste. But the chicken was like what u get in canned soups. So unauthentic. Wasnt appealing or good. Was diappounted at this esp after reiterated my allergies! God forbid i wouldve had an allergic reaction there. Not cool at all. Maybe thats what a real chickn tortilla soup is supposed to be like. Idk. But ive never had it like that.i asked for a small and was told ok even tho i didnt get a sandwich. I got a salad. Waiter did go to back 2xs to ask. And still had to pay for a Large! Then i ordered a taco salad he said the taco was corn but another waiter and menu said no its flour. It was a back & forth thing which again uninterest me. Ended up getting Ensalada de pollo (chkn salad) and ended up noy getting that but getting back a plain ckn ceasar salad. I can go on & on of mishaps. Always talked about coming here esp with finace, fam, friends, etc. Im just glad i came alone to...
