WOW. Seriously, WOW. We just left the restaurant and had to write this review right now. I am totally and utterly IMPRESSED. We just moved to Alabama and were really excited to know there’s a Peruvian restaurant only 30 away. We love Peruvian food and prayed we would have a go-to Peruvian restaurant we can recommend and take our friends and family to when they visit. After this meal, I know anyone we bring won’t be disappointed. MISKY made me fall in love with the Peruvian cuisine all over again. We just had to meet the head Chef and tell him how amazing our experience was. Chef Roberto has obviously perfected his craft and knows how to bring classic Peruvian dishes and flavors to your plate but with his own special AND delicious twist. My husband, father in law and I shared alllll the meals. We ordered the Trio Tiradito, the fried Ceviche (OMG), Lomo con Tacu Tacu, Lomo Saltado con Tallarines de Huacaina, the chaufa con carne, the choco flan, churros, and of course drinks- Inka Cola, Chicha Morada, and maracuya. Every Single Dish came perfectly cooked and so flavorful. We were recommend to try the fried ceviche which I was pretty skeptical about. That first bite was heavenly. Idk what I was worried about. That dish is a GENUIS creation and 10000% something I will be ordering every single time I go back. The prices are seriously great for the large portions AND high quality food we were served- took plenty of food home for tomorrow! The staff was incredibly kind, professional, and above all very attentive to our needs which I always appreciate. The restaurant itself was very clean, great music, and has high chairs and coloring paper/crayons for kids (we brought our 1 year old child and it kept her entertained!) I can’t waaaaait to go back. I HIGHLY recommend MISKY if you want to truly experience the incredible cuisine that Peru has to offer! Unfortunately I didn’t get photos of the choco-flan or the churros… my husband and FIL took bites before I could snap a photo 😂 also ask for Chef Roberto’s green sauce....
Read moreFood was delicious and attractively presented. I had the fish ceviche and also chupe camarones (soup). My wife had the chiles rellenos which she enjoyed. The menu offers many dishes you will find at typical Mexican restaurants as well as authentic Peruvian fare and others that are South American - Mexican fusion. Also, some sushi choices. If you want octopus, they have it. Suffice it to say, there are many items to choose from.
There were a wide variety of soups on the menu. Some are expensive (~$16), but that's because they come in huge servings that could easily comprise a whole (large) meal by itself, but also because they are loaded with high-quality ingredients.
I'm no expert on ceviche as this was my first time, and I wouldn't necessarily want a cold main course all the time. That said, I'm glad I tried it and did enjoy it. The fish was tangy and tart, but delicious and tender. The accompanying sweet potatoe and two kinds of corn nicely balanced the taste of the fish. The presentation was also very attractive in a cool sea-shell kind of dish. The portion size was also quite large.
Service was prompt and courteous. Highly recommend...
Read moreStopped in for an early dinner... First, it's great that Dothan has a new restaurant that isn't the "same old" food. Upon entering, the interior is clean and welcoming with friendly staff. We were served chips and salsa as we were seated. The salsa had a nice little kick to it. We started with the Trio Dip which consisted of Bean, Guacamole, and cheese dips. No complaints there. The Guacamole was fresh and flavorful. For dinner, my wife ordered the Enchiladas Suprema. She substituted and extra chicken for beef, which, they gladly did. The sauce was different than other places. It didn't taste like it was from a can. It was really good. I ordered the Pollo Saltado, pictures attached. Great fusion of soy, oyster sauce infused with ginger and cilantro. The chicken was nicely grilled and the fries tasted like they were fresh cut. The sauted onions and tomatoes added a great touch. Both dishes were hot when they came out. They definitely didn't sit under a heat lamp. We skipped desert due to being full and even took some leftovers home. No doubt, we...
