Simply the most experience ever twice in a row. The first time I chocked it up to a mistake and was willing to try one more time. The food was sub par but not uneatable. After a bad day and not having time to prepare a meal, it seemed convenient and we enjoy Thai food.
However, the second time around, I made sure to have the person taking my order say it back so there was no room for error. Specifically, the fried won ton with the meat, not the cheese. To be more specific, 2 orders of the same appetizer which she called back correctly.
When I arrived, she asked me if my order contained a number of items that I had not ordered. I described my order and specified the 2 orders of fried won ton again and was told that there were 2 orders under the same name. She was quick to hand me the other order and after being in the service industry myself previously, I was quick to provide over 20% for a tip.
After getting home and discovering the error in the fried won ton, I called and simply wanted a refund. We cannot and will not eat the fried won ton with the cheese and after this happening a second time, it just wasn't excusable this time. The young girl that answered said that it wasn't her fault and that it was the kitchen that made the mistake. She offered to have them correct it but that I would have to return to do so. I explained that wasn't an option and she then offered a refund. I accepted and simply wanted the 2 appetizers refunded at which point she put me on hold. The next voice was a female that spoke very little English and was trying to convince me that I couldn't be refunded because their machine was not capable.
For clarity, this isn't me just complaining about incompetence, I am trying to spare anyone that cares a horrible meal as well. For the second time, the food was sub par. The rice was undercooked and their tempura is basically overbreeded and over fried. The drunken noodle with chicken was off-putting and basically inedible as well. For the amount of money we paid and the tip we left, a simple attempt at some care and pride in their product would have gone a long way. Instead, horrible service, terrible food, and no refund for their second mistake for the exact same appetizer is all we received.
Despite my frustration, I decided to try and salvage the evening and ordered from the Thai House of Dothan on the Montgomery highway. Although it is much farther away and not as convenient, they have always been incredibly friendly and have had the best Thai cuisine in this area. They always take time to explain their options and are very careful to make sure we get what we've ordered. I can assure you that we will never order from Top Thai again. There is no comparison and I hope that this saves just one person from not just one but multiple miserable experiences from a hack "restaurant" that cares nothing about their customers or any type of...
Read moreWon't be back. My husband and I have eaten here quite a a few times. The food is usually very good but the service, however, typically isn't. They always seem a little rude. We've never really stopped to worry about it because the food seemed worth it and we've never truly had a complaint. Tonight I decided to try the Mongolian beef for the first time, and it had zero flavor. It just tasted like water. Being that I have chosen the hospitality industry as a profession, and actively work in it, I truly don't like to send food back. But the meal was just inedible. The beef tasted boiled, no seasoning. It just wasn't good. I had my husband try a bite to verify and he nearly spit it out. I had to wait over 20 mins to see my waitress again, and when I told her I didn't really like it (only two bites were removed from the entire entree) she tsk'd me and said it was made the way it's ALWAYS made and that there wasn't anything wrong with it. She continued to speak but because of her reluctance to help me, I cut her off. I got upset and told her regardless what she thinks I'll need a menu and id like to order something else. I told her I'd pay if I had too I just wanted to eat with my husband. She doesn't offer to take the untouched entree off of the bill or anything, in that interaction she never tried to offer me something else that I may like. She just wanted to argue. I looked at the menu and she walked away. I decided not to get anything else and my husband asked for the check. I only picked at some of the rice at this point. The check still had the entree on it, the same entree that remained at the edge of table, cold and untouched. Our bill was $36.42. When she brought the "boxes" my husband asked for, she only brought one for the other half of his food he would take to lunch tomorrow. Not two. So I didn't even get to take the entree home that I still had to PAY for. This actually isnt the first time I've heard of or witnessed an interaction similar to this. They don't care about the guest...
Read moreI used to get takeout from here years ago when living in Dothan and was always very happy with taste and portions of food for the price. This was my first dine-in experience, and has been some years since I last ordered with the restaurant. When I first pulled in to parking lot, I noticed that their sign was in bad shape and not lit up. Upon entering, the atmosphere and decor was rather drab. The waitress was okay, and didn't take long to help us, but spoke Spanish?? I would expect if a different language was spoken, it would be Thai. The food wasn't anywhere near as valuable as it was priced. The pepto-looking salad dressing was not appealing to the eyes, and had no taste. I tasted lettuce and that was all. I was there with a friend and a relative that I had bragged to about my past experiences with the restaurant. None of us were exactly over the moon for the taste of the food. I ordered a dish that included fried shrimp. The shrimp were lengthwise and were a little longer than a popsicle stick. I am not sure if they were sliced to spread out that long, but I have never had shrimp that didn't come curled up with a tail. These had the tail, but looked more like a shew stick. At any rate, they tasted like shrimp, so I ate a few. The steamed rice had no flavor or seasoning. None of the plates were eye-catching. The sauces were served on a flat tray with two spaces for sauce. There was nothing I would dip anything into, and there wasn't enough sauce for that even if I wanted to dip something. I couldn't pour what tasted somewhat like yumyum sauce without pouring out the other sauce. To put everything in a nutshell, this place was nothing like it was years ago when I ordered and picked up great food. My Corona was good to say something positive. My friends likely will not let me choose where to have lunch the next...
