Abusive Staff - They do not belong here
I have enjoyed this place for years and was looking forward to visiting today. Patiently waited for over two minutes at window outside without service and no other customers there. I went inside and was greeted with an angry young lady telling me if I wanted Ice cream to go outside. I told her that I had been there for two minutes and nobody would help me and I did not want to knock on the window. At this comment, other patrons clapped (I was not loud or disrespectful). I proceeded outside and knocked three times on window, which was abruptly slammed open. I was greeted with another friendly face. I asked her why I was not sparking joy, and she told me that she didn’t like people knocking on the window. What the hell? Give me the secret password or something. All I wanted was an ice cream cone and I had to put up with nothing but abuse. I politely told her that I was sorry for the inconvenience, and went to Kilwins and had the best ice cream in my life with no abuse. (This is not an endorsement for Kilwins, but I want you to know that you have other abusive...
Read moreFood was delicious. The place was small and cute, very busy on a late summer morning. We didn't have a wait at 10:45 a.m. but it looked like one started shortly after we got there. Our waitress was wonderful and got us started on drinks right away. She took our order and put it in but we had to wait about 30 minutes for our food. Not sure if that was because they were busy or what. There were only three of us, so it isn't like we were a huge party.
Once the food finally arrived it was hot and tasty and everyone got just what they ordered. I particularly loved that they served real shredded hash brown potatoes (where I live in New York, has browns are fried cubed potatoes, which are called home fries here). My husband ordered the home fries and said they were good but wished they'd included green peppers and onions like they serve back East. Well, I told him, that's what they do out here in the land of the Pop (not soda, lol).
The moral of the story is the Blue Star Cafe will serve up a tasty, inexpensive breakfast that's worth the...
Read moreFirst of all, they only had like six ice cream flavors. I ordered a flurry with bananas and three ice cream cones. A girl comes to the window to say they have no more banana and asks if I would like something else. I didn't want anything else, so I said no thank you. She hands us the the cones and tried to close the window. I say, "excuse me, but I would still like to be refunded for the flurry I purchased. (Which was 4.50) she says fine as she rolled her eyes and slams the window. Like she REALLY expected I was going to let them just keep my money!! And I even had already tipped them! She makes me wait for a LONG A TIME, then comes back with only $3.98. NINE DIMES, A NICKLE, AND FOUR PENNIES! When I paid, I gave them quarters, I KNOW you have them. You did that on purpose to be spiteful. Terrible service. Terrible selection, and barely mediocre ice cream. We threw away half of the other cones. 🤮 I should have taken my tip back! Zero stars. Stay away at all costs. Two thumbs way,...
