I had read this was the best pizza around so we made a special stop here when we were in town. I did not realize it was literally a take out joint. We went there as a family, thinking it was a sit down place. I didn’t realize the cheese was a provolone/mozzarella mix, and I am super weird about cheese and will only eat 100% mozza. So, I really struggled to figure out what I wanted to order. The woman working was so patient. Everything had the cheese mix on it. I ended up with a club wrap with no cheese, when my heart was set on pizza. The breadsticks were good and tasty. And my child was acting crazy because he was told he couldn’t have pop and I am grateful there wasn’t any other patrons there to witness his tantrum. The staff was patient while we dealt with him and tried to order. There are little picnic tables around the corner, and when I say little I mean, like two adults can fit comfortably. We have six people in our family and we took up all the tables. And there is very little shade. I asked the staff to bring our stuff out to us and they did which was very nice and considerate, considering they are a carry out joint. My kids and husband got the pizza and they loved it, there wasn’t any left when we...

I was so excited to try this... Reading reviews and looking at pictures I was very optimistic. I like a thin crust with a bit of char on the edges. They definitely delivered the visual. I ordered a medium pepperoni cooked well done. The crust was perfectly crispy on the edges. But the rest of the crust was frankly like cardboard. Not crispy and almost difficult to chew at times. The sauce was decent, not my style but not offensive. A pizza rating is extremely subjective, and for me this was a miss. Close, but not what I am looking for. The girl who got my order was fast and friendly. The shop was small and felt like a pizza...

Very good food! Two in our group got 2 grinders and a salad (roast beef, the Godfather, tuna) and the other 2 got pizzas. Not a lot of room to sit and eat, it’s more like a take-out place. There are a couple of small benches outside. We grabbed the food and then headed to Mount Baldhead in Saugatauk. At the bottom of the stairs there is a small parking lot with a covered pergola and about 8 picnic tables. Perfect place to eat. The food was delicious and more than enough. One 16” pizza would have sufficed for 2 people and I could barely finish my 7” grinder. I’ll have the...

Tavern style pizza. Relatively thin, crispy (and possibly unleavened) crust with a thick, cooked tomato sauce and lots of cheese. Admittedly this is one of my least favorite styles of pizza - I just can't get into that dense crackery crust, but if you're a midwesterner this pizza will be very familiar to you. The pizza was freshly prepared and service was friendly.

I'm from the sunrise side of Michigan and visit the Saugatuck/Douglas area often. This was my first time ordering here. Friendly staff was quick to greet me and offered paper plates/napkins/silverware without my asking. The Parthenon pizza is absolutely amazing, delicious, chefs kiss!! I'll be back! Thank you, Back Alley Pizza!
