The chicken, rolls, salads with homemade dressing, and chocolate dessert were all excellent. Michael is a very skilled, friendly, and attentive waiter. For those reasons I cannot give a rating of less than 4 of 5 stars. However, there were significant concerns. The busboy (evening of 28th) was unfriendly and in need of training. When we were seated, the busboy brought our water. We asked him to please bring us some lemon slices for the water. He told us in a rude tone that that wasn't his job and we should ask our waiter. As a former restaurant and nightclub manager, and as someone who has in the past worked as a waiter and busboy, I have never heard a bus staff member refuse such a reasonable request. He also walked by our table several times ignoring the dirty dishes, leaving Michael the waiter to clear nearly every plate. This busboy does clear and reset tables efficiently, but being a busboy should always prioritize serving customers who are still present. Every restaurant worker needs to work as a team player, and that was absent with this unfriendly and unhelpful staff member. The music is a bit loud, but more concerning is that the bass setting is so high, it vibrates the table which detracts from the dining experience. While it is expectable to charge for rolls with small plate orders, it comes across as cheap not to include rolls with dinners. Finally, please put deodorizers or ice in the men's room urinals. In sum, very good food, top notch wait staff, and some concerning but easily remedied problems that would move this restaurant from 4 to 5...
Read moreWe were frequent customers of everyday people cafe. Our waitress Tiffany was phenomenal, and the service is typically outstanding. We waited 2 hours for our food and left our 630 dinner reservation at 930pm. we went to celebrate a graduation with elderly grandparents and had a conversation that needed to take place outside, so we moved. An employee who has been there for 16+ years asked us to move because customers were complaining, so no problem we moved. She was not friendly. When the rest of our party left, the employee with white hair said “the women you are looking for, who were also fighting, are down the road, you can find them there”. She said this with an eye-roll to a party of 6 people that just waited over 2 hours for a meal that cost more than $400. As an old woman herself, I expected the worker to understand the situation more. When I addressed this with the her after the party left, she pointed her finger in my face telling me I was wrong and she had many years of experience. This is extremely disappointing and as a former frequent customer I will no longer return. This is a shame given the staff is incredible, but the old woman running the show is not. She is the reason for the decline in service and customers.
Update from 2025: a friend of mine visited and had a similar terrible experience with a disrespectful, cranky long time older employee. Extremely...
Read moreOur daughter had made plans for us to have her birthday lunch at another establishment in town, but they were closed for the winter season so we decided to try Everyday People Cafe and we loved it.
We were presented the brunch menu, available on the weekends, and everyone enjoyed their plates. We did not take advantage of the Unlimited Bubbles option available as an add-on price to any meal.
I had the Chilaquiles Verdes, and we also sampled the EPC Burger and the American Wagyu steak sandwich. The children had the Waffles with bacon added.
The bacon strips were really thick cut and cooked perfectly. The waffles were large, but very light and crispy. The syrup was absolutely amazing! I wish I could have gotten a bottle to take home.
I thoroughly enjoyed the chilaquiles verdes. The eggs were sunny side up with firm but not hard yolks. The poblano green chili sauce was delicious.
We informed our waitress that we were pressed for time, and she confirmed that there were no kitchen orders ahead of us even though the place was full, so we were able to get our orders and be finished in about 40 minutes. The tablecloths were covered with butcher paper and the children were given crayons to draw while we waited on our food.
We still plan to come back and try the other establishment when they reopen next season, but we are super glad that we got the...
