Firehouse Subs — Restaurant in Douglas

This was only our second time getting the chance to eat here in the last couple of years and we wanted a change of pace from our normal spots But we'd recommend giving it a try.

The entrance, the dining room and the restrooms were all cleaned and well maintained. Napkins, lids and straws were all well stocked and easy to find.

There were many predesigned subs from which to choose, but the option to build your own was also available.

My wife had the Italian, while I enjoyed the New York Steamer. We both ordered the small combos as we were not overly hungry and the portion was the right size for us and still filling. Both subs were very tasty.

We had very little interaction with the workers except when we ordered and they briefly brought our order to the table. It was not that they were unfriendly, but somewhat unengaging.

My first Firehouse Subs experience was just a couple of days ago. I decided to go in and try a sweet and spicy meatball sub. It was perfect in every way! It was easily the best meatball sub I've ever had in my life! It even looked like the picture on their website! I was so impressed that I went back for lunch today and got a medium beef and cheddar brisket. With a desire to try all of their subs I went back for dinner and had a hook and ladder. The one thing I'm looking for above everything else is quality, and Firehouse has it! I regret not having tried their sandwiches sooner, but I never imagined they would be so good and of such a high quality. I'm going back tomorrow and trying the pastrami. Terrible customer service. Terrible delivery service, subs ordered were delivered over 30 minutes past delivery time. Firehouse representatives to include manager did nothing to resolve the isssue. Offered to inconvenience me more by offering they would remake subs but I would have to bring late subs to the store. They lost a customer. I will never order from this location ever again.
