I pulled in to the drive thru. There was a young lady standing outside with a tablet in her hand taking orders. She seemed as though she was about to pass out. I asked her was she ok. Offered her water and was told she had to stand out there as part of her job. In the brewing South Georgia heat. I told her to go and get someone else as it was obvious she was suffering from heat exhaustion.
Another young lady came out. I was made aware that the speaker box does work. However it is mandatory that these kids, who I now know are only 16 & 17 years old, are made to do this daily.
I complete my order. Get to the window and immediately ask for the manager. I am greeted by Amanda (GM). I inform Amanda that it is extremely hot outside and they should really consider using the speaker box for orders. I explain to Amanda that these kids really should not be out here in the sweltering heat. Amanda agreed. Amanda stated that corporate has made this mandatory ever since Chicfila opened across the street.
I asked Amanda if she was against why does she not speak up. She jumped her shoulders. I asked her had she been out there today in the heat taking orders. Her response was “No. it’s too hot”. I then asked Amanda if it’s too hot for her then why is it not too hot for those kids. Amanda said it’s corporate not me. I went back and forth with Amanda. Only to find out that Amanda never goes outside and take orders, even though she’s a manager who should lead by example. She sends the kids outside to struggle in sweltering heat.
I asked what was the emergency plan if one of the kids pass out or begin to stroke out from the heat. She responded with there is no real plan. We just kinda watch on camera. I told her that’s not an emergency plan. Simply reacting to said emergency. No contingency plan in place whatsoever.
Zaxbys your company has the booths with heating and ac here in ATL. If you’re going to force those employees (kids) outside, then at least protect them from the heat. This is disrespectful and all out diabolical. If a manager is not willing to do the task, then how can they enforce an employee to...
Read moreOne of the few places I dine at and leave satisfied and with the feeling I got value for my dollar. I appreciate the way I am greeted and served, the cleanliness of the whole store and property, the taste of the food, the extreme variety of the drink machine...pretty much the whole experience. Just recently went in for a meal; was tired, aggravated at how the day was going, not feeling quite "up to speed"; was met by an employee, a young lady named Haley, who appeared to be having the same sort of day. I thought, "Oh, boy, this isn't going to go well." But then she smiled, greeted me kindly, and asked for my order. I came in the door knowing exactly what I wanted, had even rehearsed the order in my mind so there would be no mistakes or delay, but her sweet spirit befuddled me and I forgot part of my order. Haley kept smiling and asking the right questions and quickly took my order. I don't know what might have been troubling her, but I enjoyed a good meal made much more enjoyable by a very kind young lady. Haley needs to...
Read moreParked & went inside to order bc the drive thru had an excess of 6 cars waiting. Placed the order which was a Zinger combo & fried chicken salad with sweet tea. There was no sweet tea made, no ice & the drink machine did not put out a Coke or Pepsi that was not flat. Plus it had a weird lemon taste. Asked for Italian dressing for the salad and was told they were out of it. Myself & the person next to me waited & waited behind another customer who was just standing at there counter trying to decide what they wanted. Not once did the cashier or anyone else behind the counter offer to hand me & the person next to me our orders. Rather they sat on the counter until the people ahead of us finally ordered. Even then, we had to ask if those were ours before we could get them and leave. This was my first time trying the Zaxbys in Douglas, it was very disappointing. Service was poor & basic amenities like ice, sweet tea, drinks and salad dressing were not...
