99 Reasons to NOT go to the 99. Before you may think Im being mean or that I am a Karen, please let me elaborate. It is both with a heavy heart and sadness, but people should know. Both me and my family have been big fans of the 99 since they opened the first ones. It always was a great place for almost any occasion. You always knew the food would be great dine in or take out. The standards were high across the board. The menus and everything looked great, we were actually really excited about this meal because it was for family and Christmas. We never thought it would be this horrible and our very misrerable waitress made me us all so feel rushed. She made us feel kind of like we were bothering her. I said "hey, maybe she had a long day or something personal happened or Maybe she is just not feeling the holiday spirit today". I asked for a Pepsi, no Pepsi no idea why, but we really felt like she was less than thrilled to be there and it felt like I was holding up the whole table because she didn't give me the option to even come back to me after I looked at the many options for drinks on the menu as fast as I could. So okay, We had a Gluten free family member with us. I got the Ice Blue Wedge and some seafood chowder that sounded amazing, my man got the King Tips and fries, and one member got a specialty burger . We have a Gluten free family member who absolutely cannot have carbs. It got confusing. Dietary restrictions are a matter of life and death for many people and not a fad, but hey once again maybe she didn't know. We completely felt like we were putting her out at this point and it was weird to see a whole table of waitstaff just doing nothing. Maybe that's why our waitress seemed so over this. Idk. The food came out fast. Too fast. Which to me means it was microwaved but hey maybe it tasted amazing, no big deal. The awful inedible truth of it.The food. I'm paraphrasing because these are limited. I got my seafood chowder and ice blue wedge in front of me, and my bfs food, the King tips we know and love was put on the table. I know exactly how bad inflation is, but this got just unacceptable. It looked like 5 pieces of very dry meat so and they looked sad, they were smothered, it had maybe 2 or 3 slices of mushrooms so paper thin you could not pick them up with a fork, so they stayed on the plate. My bf and share food so I ate a tip and it was like luke warm bubble gum. A tiny pile of 7-8 very sad looking fries came with it. The fries were so cold and gross, its was not edible, McDonald's could do it better. I tried my soup, it was cool, I stirred it a bit and tried again, hoping I guess, and it was oddly too hot, so it was microwaved. Fine. But not edible. The shrimp mushy and barely there, and 1, uno, of the worst scallop I have ever had was floating in it. It was cut so thin, just rubber and tasted like old fish or something so gross, my bf tried it too, inedible. So I didn't get to eat anything and I left it all. The burger for the Gluten free family was light years away from the juicy burgers they used to make. She said Medium and got close to raw. Not edible. The specialty burger was a plate filled with grease and burger dry and gross. We did not complain because we didn't want to bother our waitress at that point. They have gotten so bad, idk if they could come back from this oh and TP in a ladies room is would be helpful, we cant "shake it off". Save your money, its inedible, microwave hot garbage. Such a sad day. And why is there one waitress working and 4 sitting at a table doing absolutely nothing. Not eating, not on break..so sadly an institution is now a horrible place. At this rate by next year, no will come back, I...
Read moreI would like to formally express my dissatisfaction with an experience I had at your restaurant this afternoon. I visited for lunch with my autistic son, my friend, her autistic son, and a 6-month-old baby. While our server was respectful and kind, and our food was satisfactory, an incident occurred that left us feeling quite uncomfortable.
As we were finishing our meals and preparing to request a to-go box, we were abruptly approached by someone I assume was a manager, who immediately said, with a disapproving attitude, "Can I help you guys with something? Clearly the shade is going to be broken?" My son, who is autistic, was standing in the booth with the shade gently over him because it helps him feel safe and provides the space he needs for his sensory processing. He was not hurting or breaking the shade in any way.
I understand if there was a concern about the shade, but the manner in which it was addressed was rude and unacceptable. The individual did not introduce themselves or provide any consideration for why my child was behaving in that manner. I attempted to correct my son by putting the shade up, but realized he would likely break it in his attempts to comfort himself if I continued to fight him over it. The table beside us as we were leaving, even complimented the children on how well behaved they were and that we handled the situation very well and that they understood us.
This restaurant is deemed to be family-friendly, yet the approach taken was neither family nor kid-friendly. I felt judged as a parent, despite the situation being under control and causing no harm. I expect better from your establishment, and believe that staff, especially managers, should be trained to handle situations professionally and understand the needs of all children,...
Read moreWorst service and very badly served food. We waited over 10 minutes for the waitress to come to the take & she didnt stay long enough to take our drink order. When she finally did take our drink order it was another 20+ minutes for our drinks to come. (Yes, we timed it.. ) We didn't have a chance to order anything else as she dropped them off and was gone again for another 10+ minutes. We ordered appetizers that were simple & waited 27 minutes for them and they were dried out and cold.. We chanced ordering meals the next time we saw her & flagged her down. Meals were all COLD and one wasn't what was ordered at all. All of us are in the food industry so we know how kitchens run. We also know that food that sits & isn't served when ready ends up being bad. IT'S NOT THE KITCHENS FAULT.. The server was just that bad.. And it was NOT busy at all. The table next to us had the same problem. She dropped things off, talked about her favorite alcoholic drinks and just turned around and walked away. The only consistent thing about today was hearing her talk & seeing her walk away & disappear for 10-20 min. at a time. We won't go back any time soon. Unless you're a friend or regular there you don't seem to be served or even let out of the building. Everyone seemed to be too busy talking to people & having personal conversations. We waited for a good 5 minutes at the door trying to leave before I push passed a man who worked there since all if us saying EXCUSE ME multiple times didn't work. It was an expensive waste of time & money trying to find something good about the front of house at this location. They ruined the kitchen experience that I honestly believe would have been great if the food was brought out before it was cold, hard & 1 meal...
