I am extremely disappinted with this stores way of handling an order we had placed tonight. First, we had generously recieved "two free pizzas" by email after our order we placed the previous time had taken longer than the expected delivery time. We understood the wait and had no issues with the store this particular time. Our order started by being placed on the pizzahut website for delivery. While there was posted an estimated 2 hour delivery time, we figured we would give the store a call to confirm whether it may actually take that long. The woman that answered the phone confirmed that it would be 2 hours and we asked if we could pick it up and have a shorter wait time. She told us it would only be about 15 minutes if we picked up. We told her we would be down in that 15 minute time frame. I arrived at the store and gave the woman at the counter my order name, explained that it was originally an online but we called and said we would pick up. This is where things became chaotic. I paid for our order and was told the order would be right out. I'm waiting and waiting, aware that they must be busy based on the 2 hour wait time. I'm being patient as one can be. Then the woman comes out again, asks me what kind of pizza we had. I hand her my receipt and she takes it out back. Comes out a few minutes later and tells me she can give me "credit" or start making me the pizzas. Mind you, I've already waited for long enough for food to be done or at least in the process of being made. I ask for my money back as I am frustrated and just need to get back home to the kids with dinner asap. She mentions the manager will be out to talk with me....and I wait....and after a couple minutes, I get a call from my family at home that our order was at the door and the delivery driver couldn't leave without payment (understandably If he has no idea what is going on) and he tried calling the pizzahut store multiple times to get confirmation that the money had been received and he can leave. While im standing in the pizzahut store, I end up on my own cellphone talking to this delivery guy who asks me to please find the manager tyler so he can talk to him to get this straightened out. I was really uncomfortable at this point that I, the customer, is in the middle of this situation. One of the waitresses who was closing out the one party in the restaurant found the manager for me and I handed over my own phone to him so he could speak to the delivery guy. At this point, I'm fuming as this manager asking me what I want to do as far as getting my refund or taking the pizza that is at my door at home. I tell him I want my money back and to please have the delivery driver take the food, as I was fed up and was going to bring my business elsewhere. I get my money back and call my family to see what else I can grab instead. They ended up paying for the food at home and taking it because at this point, we have two screaming starving kids. My concern here is that our order was started with complimented pizzas because things went "wrong" the time before. We were incredibly grateful and surprised and thought, "wow, pizzahut really cares about their customers". My mind has since changed and I do not see us ever returning. I want to mention I understand why things may have gotten confused and or taken longer than usual but the way it was handled was unacceptable for us. Lack of communication and/or concern for us as paying customers in this store has left me...
Read moreWe usually order from Domino's, but thought we'd try something different tonight. So, generally, I'm a Pizza Hut fan. I used to love their lunch buffet. I even delivered for them for 3-4 years back in the 90s.
This particular store looks like it has fallen on hard times. It feels dark and dingy when you walk in. The door was actually sticky when I pushed on it, it felt gross.
I assume they're understaffed like everyone else these days. I only ever saw two ladies working the dining room. When we walked in there were only two other tables occupied, we were the third at 6:30 on a Friday night. We ordered bread sticks, drinks, one 2-topping pizza, and cinnabon rolls for dessert. The breadsticks took about 20 minutes to arrive, but when they did they were very delicious. The pizza took another 30 minutes after that, so a 45 minute wait for one pizza with an almost empty dining room. The waitress came to the table to deliver the breadsticks, and to deliver the pizza. Otherwise, she did not stop in once during that 30 minutes to check in and see how we were doing, ask to refill drinks, explain the long wait, etc. The soda wasn't quite right either; my guess was not enough syrup in the fountain machine. When she brought the pizza and I gently complained about the wait, she said, yeah, things got crazy for a bit. Again, we were the third table when we arrived, but by the time the pizza arrived, we were the only table. And she didn't actually apologize and say oh I'm really sorry for the wait, or anything like that.
After the pizza arrived and we ate it, probably 20 minutes later she still hadn't been back to the table, so I flagged her down and asked her if the cinnabons were going to be arriving anytime soon. She said oh yeah and went around and pulled them off the shelf where they had been sitting for I don't know how long.
In summary, the restaurant just felt sad and lonely and uninviting. The staff seemed tired and apathetic. The pizza was fine, but there's definitely better to be had in Dover. And $45 for one pizza, soda and breadsticks is steep. I definitely won't be back, and that makes me...
Read moreMy wife and I love Pizza Hut we just wanted to make that clear before I continue with this review. There used to be one in our area and it closed. We were legitimately sad. When I had to go to New Hampshire for work we quickly decided Pizza Hut was our destination for lunch before heading home. The parking lot is huge and has plenty of room for parking. When I walked in the person working behind the desk was very nice and friendly. Great start. I noticed a sign stating the buffet was coming back. How sweet is that. They have plenty of in house seating for pre Covid days. There where even a couple families sitting down eating lunch. I ordered two large pizzas. An extra cheese and an extra pepperoni. We added cinnamon sticks and Cinnabons with a fair amount of extra sauce sides. The garlic sauce was so gross the food that was dipped into it was thrown away. The deserts and other sauces where very good though. Now to the pizza. I have to say I wasn’t ready for the amount of sauce on the whole pie. I don’t remember that much last time I had Pizza Hut. The crust was nice and buttery. Exactly how I remembered it. All in all the experience was good, not great or horrible but good. Now one last thing. The price. Since when did it cost $64.00 for the order I just mentioned above? How on gods green earth did the pizza and snacks I used to love go up so much in price and down in quality. Yes I said 64 bucks. That is beyond a rip off and I will never ever go back because of that price. The taste of the garlic sauce didn’t help either. Very gross. So bottom line. If your willing to pay way to much for pizza that doesn’t taste like it used to and sauces that are not even close to good id still suggest going...
