My family and I decided to give this place a try today. We waited about an hour for a table, but based on the recent reviews, I figured it would be worth it. Unfortunately, I was wrong.
When asked if we preferred indoor or outdoor seating, I said it didnât matter. After the long wait, we were seated outside. The moment we sat down, we were surrounded by flies and bees. We placed our order, and our server didnât check in again until the food arrived. When I asked if we could move inside or to another outdoor table (several of which were open and free of bugs), the response I got was, âI donât know what to tell you. You can leave.â
There was no effort to accommodate us or offer a solution. The server simply said, âItâs fly season,â and told us we could either box up our food or âdeal with it.â The attitude was dismissive and unprofessional.
Then came the food â which only made things worse. The wait was significant just like getting seated. The burgers are frozen patties from Costco, the chicken sandwiches were rubbery and clearly from a bulk bag, and the grilled cheese was just toasted bread with two cold slices of cheese inside. As soon as the plates hit the table, they were instantly swarmed by flies again. When I pointed it out, the same server told us, once again, that we could just leave.
If I werenât someone who believes in paying for what I order, I would have walked out. Between the rude service, poor food quality, and unsanitary dining conditions, this was one of the most disappointing dining experiences Iâve had in...
Read moreRebecca's is in the middle of the Amish heartland where comfort food; fried chicken, meatloaf, mashed potatoes, noodles, and pie are the culinary staples. You won't find that regular stuff here. At Rebecca's the food is differently unique and so very delicious! We were in the area for a few days and found it so good we had lunch there every day for three days in a row! We have been visiting this area for years and every time we're close we stop here for lunch. We've never gotten anything there we don't like, but a few things stand out; They say their tomato-basil soup is their signature starter, but here's a secret: their bacon-potato soup is as close to nirvana as I expect to get here on Earth; the fruit-chicken tossed salad (this week it was strawberry-chicken) is so good I often get it instead of a sandwich. Coming from a true meat and potatoes man that says something about how good that salad is!; at the risk of losing my Man card I must admit to eating and loving the bacon-spinach quiche - delicious; the ginger-peach iced tea is so good I hate to tell you about it since they might run out of it before I get my next tall cool glass; and the deserts... the chocolate spoon cake is rich, chocolaty, and decadently good. Even when I'm stuffed and don't think I can eat another bite I'll devour that cake! And, believe it or not, the carrot cake is just as good. Since the dining area and patio are small and cozy you will have bit of a wait to get in, especially on the weekends when the area is most busy, but the food is...
Read moreRebeccaâs bistro is one of my family and I favorite places to go in Berlin. The staff is so warm and welcoming, and they are always smiling which automatically makes me want to be there. OK, if you are a chocolate cake, lover, or if youâve ever dreamed of eating the cake that Brucie off of Matilda is eating from the movie, order the chocolate spoon cake, itâs a cake that literally melts in your mouth and itâs incredible. Sooo rich but not too sweet. ITS PERFECT!! Iâve never had anything like it. Their cheeseburger is amazing, itâs so fresh. It has very good seasoning and almost has like a garlic hint to it. The Rebecca sauce they put on the burger is also incredible. They also have this Rebeccaâs vinaigrette that is sweet and so hard to explain, but itâs so different in the flavor is amazing. Sometimes they carry protein donuts, and just overall their bakery items are very fresh and very tasty. If you like soup, try the lemon chicken orzo or the tomato basil, which is one of my personal favorites. Check out Rebeccaâs bistro and be sure to bring your friends and family. They do have a wait every time they open because they are a smaller Business. So if you do not want to wait, you better get there as soon as they open. :) and my family and I go there so much⌠I promise you this is every time they open....
