Omega just lost two customers due to inexcusible, sub-par food prep/quality and unprofessional staff. This restaurant is like an old dinosaur that doesn't fit with current restraurant trends and customer service. The family members that run the place have NO customer service skills! They don't smile, they don't greet you, they are just a body taking up space. We were long time customers but have witnessed a serious decline in food quality/service over the last few years. Our recent dinner experience is now our last and here's why. My husband and I ordered the Greek Skirt Steak dinner (our bill totalled $90.00). As part of the dinner, we were offered a choice of potato, we chose the Greek style. Our salads were served promptly but the wait time for the dinner to arrive exceeded 40 minutes. Our waitress told us the delay was due to the Greek potatos. We ordered one steak medium well, and one steak medium. When our dinner finally arrived, both steaks were raw as well as the center of the potatoes. We sent the steaks back to be cooked the way we ordered them and was offered a baked potato as a replacement but we declined. The whole dinner was ruined. We just wanted to leave. There was nothing "Greek" about the potatoes. They were tasteless except for the overpowering taste of lemon juice. And they took 40 minutes to cook????? The bill arrives ($90.00), I went to the counter to express our disappointment and had the unpleasant experience of speaking to Hostess Rita. I will assume Rita is another family member who's facial expressions clearing indicates she hates her job. I began to tell her the details of our disappointing dinner and while I was talking she was looking out the window with her face turned away from me. Her passive reply was "no managers are here, I can give a "little" discount, I'll talk to the cooks. None of this came with any sencerity at all. She was trying to avoid any further conversation with me. And the "little discount" offer wasn't taken. What a rediculous comment! Rita is a detrement to this establishment that in my opinion is hanging by a thread. Sure, Omega may pull off a decent breakfast...you can't do too much damage when cooking eggs and pancakes. The customer count for the dinner menu can be counted on two hands, there's a reason for it..........customers who knew the once thriving Omega's cleary have witnessed the overall decline. The restaurant is dated, the family running it have no skills, the cooks can't broil a simple steak nor can they cook a basic...
Read moreOmega used to be one of the BEST places around town to go, especially for late night food... The last few times we stopped in it's been disappointing, but for some reason we decided to try again tonight... I guess we always have hopes that it's going to be okay again... First of all, they stopped serving the beautiful basket of breads and muffins awhile ago, so that's a bummer... but the menu has gotten exorbitant in price and the quality has sadly gone WAY down...
Our server was polite and quick, he was great, but the meal was such a HUGE disappointment... I had ordered the southwest salad ("with no onion please") which came with a soup, so I ordered the chicken gumbo soup which was great, but when the salad came out, it was loaded with onion and had tons of green and red peppers (which were not in the description,) and it didn't have the avocado - or olives which I had asked to sub for the onion... Honestly it didn't even look like the salad that I ordered, I think they gave me something else. Plus the chicken was hot and the cheese was melted all over the salad which was a little weird, but whatever... (Also I'm so glad I asked for the Southwest dressing on the side because it had a really funky thousand Island-ish taste, and was not good.)
I ended up saying that's okay, and thought I'd take the taco salad with chicken instead, but after thinking about it I just decided to just have a regular side salad...
I was dipping my lettuce pieces in the ranch dressing that I had, and as I picked up a piece I noticed what looked to be larvae ! 😳😭
I showed my friend, and we both agreed that was definitely a worm of some sort... I quietly mentioned this to our server, and then suddenly two other staff members were at our table checking it out, and the one guy rubbed it off and said "no it's not, but I'll gladly feed this to my bearded dragon"... Okay, good for your bearded dragon, but not good for my appetite, thanks... WTH !? 😂🤔
Meanwhile, I just decided that I was finished, my friend was done with their meal anyway by that time.
Our bill arrived, and I was charged for the soup (no worries,) but I was also charged for the side salad which was barely touched, so I asked our server if he could please take it off the bill, and he did.
We tipped him fine, but the entire experience was bizarre. We went up and paid and left, both of us looking at each other and decided we're never going back.
Sadly, time and time again we think it's going to be good, but it's just not the same Omega anymore.
It's...
Read moreWhat happened to this place? I have been coming here for forty five years and this will be my last visit. The food has changed for the worse. They no longer bake any of the desserts on site instead the cream pies are now just some kind of flavored cool whip like substance. I ordered the sirloin slices, it use to be served medium rare and half of an inch thick meat now the meat is sliced paper thin and is dry and served well done. The meat was thinner than gyro slices there was no au jus just water from the bland hard vegetables. Don’t know what was worse the vegetables or the rubber gravy on the instant style mashed potatoes. My soup was served to me cold. Omega use to give you a basket with a variety of warm rolls and muffins not any more. This is Not the place that it once was this is a very sad day for me loosing a great restaurant to this over priced tv diner without the foil. My mom ordered a chopped salad and she hated it. It was made with Burnt bacon with a variety of white iceberg lettuce and onions with half of a green egg. Was supposed to come with soup but that never arrived. Had to ask several times and finally ended up asking for the soup to go. Look at the photo of what they served I can’t believe that it has come to this.I doubt that it will be around much longer Shame on you whoever did this to Omega! Your chemically flavored cool whip like banana cream pie made without banana’s and your terrible tasteless food won’t last long when there are so many great places left to eat at. One of the worst meals that I have ever been served. The prices are very high almost $18 for an iceberg salad and a cup of soup if you even get your soup. When you add tax and a tip your near $25 I think the original owners are spinning in their graves over what you have done to this once...
