This place had some potential. I ordered a plate of Lolo Saltado and was enjoying it when suddenly I realized the piece of stake I was chewing ended up being wrapped around a two-inch piece of tough plastic bag. I informed the waitress and she apologized and said the bag was used to measure the right portion for the beef. She offered a 20% discount when I paid the bill and although it wasn't necessary, I was not happy with the experience. The tough plastic scratched the roof of my mouth and I still feel unpleasant many hours later. I personally won't return to this restaurant due to the experience but I doubt (or at least hope) this was a very isolated case.
Aside from that, the rest of the food had a good flavor. Not the best, but certainly not the worst.
The place was at about 50% capacity with half of those dining outside under a tent and the other half in the restaurant. We dined inside.
If it were not for the bad experience I would rated this 3 stars (or "I liked it").
The priced were also a bit high. The plate was $19.99 and the portion was decent but not large enough to qualify the price. For that amount If love to have a few bites left over to take home.
In the end the dish consists of steamed rice, french fries, purple onion, and a few pieces of beef in a sweetened soy-sauce type dressing. In my opinion not worth the $20.

Read more3.5 stars. I know this place is supposed to be amazing because it is usually always full. This was my first time trying it. I had the 1/4 lb chicken with beans and fries on the side and my girlfriend had the Lomo Saltado. The chicken was a little bit dry and seemed a little old. I know restaurants don't have fresh chicken every single day but still. The Lomo Saltado was apparently amazing 5 out of 5. I guess it is what they are known for so it is what matters most. In regards to service: it was Ok. Nothing bad to say and nothing over the top to talk about either. Just your average customer service. In regards to parking: I think that it is quite small. We went when it was almost empty but due to it being inside a plaza, there was only 2 parking lots left. I can only imagine how full it is when Saturday comes aroudn Price: I thought the chicken price was good. $10.99. Typical anywhere for anything but the lomo saltado i THINK was around $19.99. That to me is too steep. I should have SOME leftovers at that price but anyway, i guess it si their main thing so you can be the judge of that. Would I come again? I mean it would not be my first choice and I like to try new places but sure, I guess. Check it out and tag/follow us on instagram and tiktok...
Read moreI was recommended to eat at this place by my friend that lives in Los Angeles. He said it was unique and had great dishes. I have always wanted to try Peruvian food but never had the chance to. Till this past summer when I got the chance to visit my family in LA and decided to go try the food out. Overall, there was wonderful service, and the food was delicious. The waiters were attentive to when a customer needed something. The dish that I tried was the ceviche, which by the way was a bit different from the Mexican ceviche. If I get the chance to visit Los Angeles again and feel like eating Peruvian food I would defiantly come again here at Parrilla's Cholito and recommend...
