I've been a fan of honeygrow since I went to Temple - it's quick, filling, on the healthier side, and provided leftovers. I was excited to hear that a location was opening near me, since it's been a while that I had honeygrow. The location in Doylestown is cute, it's a good size and very clean for sure. Understandable that they are still new and trying to get a grasp of things, but I noticed a lot of difference. It's definitely still on the pricier side but the portion has decreased since my days at Temple. The staff was super friendly and great! They handed my order to me directly rather than calling my name and placing it to the side. They were having fun and still greeting guests. I did have a mistake in my food, rather than getting noodles they gave me rice. I didn't see this until I got home and saw the order was incorrect, but it was still filling!
I did feel bad because there was a couple that apparently had waited 20 minutes to get their food order today and ordered on the mobile, but i guess honeygrow didn't receive the order? They had a bit of an outburst and left, which is understandable because i would be upset if I found out that my food didn't go through after waiting for 20 minutes...but i do think the situation could have been handled differently. That somewhat threw the vibe off a bit...but overall, decent experience, hoping that with time improvements...
Read moreWe decided to give this place a try and it failed miserably! We placed the order online and arrived when the app said the food would be ready. Upon entering the restaurant it was a disorganized mess. People milling about not knowing where to go and a steady line of people returning orders that were incorrect. And each time food was returned, the pompous guy working behind the counter stated “I got you Boss!” as he he slowly corrected orders.
We finally received our food in the sealed bag 15 minutes past the due time. We walked out to the car and opened the bag. The entire order was incorrect even though we had the correct ticket taped to the outside of the bag. So I went back in and got the same smarmy comment “I got you Boss!” It took only a minute to correct the order. I can only assume someone else returned our food too!
Once we started eating, everyone had the same comments- food portions were small, add ons were negligible and it was poor quality food. My daughter threw hers out after a few bites and opted for leftovers from the night before.
This place will not survive. It’s far too expensive for the portion sizes and the place is disorganized. It reminds me of other ill fated restaurants, dessert bars, and chain donut shops in the Doylestown area that have failed in the past few years. I’ll give it a year max….I’ll check...
Read moreWhichever corporate exec or consulting firm designed the layout and process should be fired immediately. The food was excellent. The experience was horrible. You go in and weave your way past everyone waiting for their food to then go to a kiosk to order.
Then after ordering some poor soul has to gather up all the ingredients for your order along with everyone else who ordered food and put it back to the cooking line to eventually be prepared.
While you wait, you just stand there in front of the door basically so whenever a new person walks in they are just stuck and need to ask the other patrons where they go.
There is zero interaction with another human (other than giving other customers annoyed glances at how poorly planned this process is) until after about 30 minutes of waiting someone yells your name, hands your food, and says "have a nice day".
By no means is this the fault of the people working there. They were hustling the entire time. This is a design flaw in their system. And it's a shame, because as I said, the food was really good.
But we won't go back.
P.s we also aren't sure how this place would be for anyone who has a visual or...
