We dined with First Watch in Doylestown today (9/23/25) around 1 o clock. Our experience started poor. I think it’s important to say, the restaurant was VERY busy. There wasn’t an empty table in house. We stood at the host stand for about 10 minutes and no one even glanced our way. We waited patiently alongside several other parties and after about 15 minutes or so, we were sat. Once again, no one came to greet us. We sat for 15 minutes before our server came to even take our drink order, or give an introductory. We finally ordered, food didn’t take too long to come out. 10-15 minutes or so maybe. My plate (The traditional breakfast) hit the table and I could just tell by looking at it that it wasn’t going to be edible. Half of my potatoes were uncooked, the other half burnt. My eggs were still half liquid, bacon was basically disintegrating in my mouth due to being over cooked. Toast was actually just bread. It didn’t seem like it had been in a toaster at all. The other person in my party ordered the BLTE, and said it was fine, just underwhelming.
Now after reading all of this, you probably wonder why I still gave 3 stars. I asked the host for a manager and was efficiently and warmly greeted by José. He listened to everything I had to say, took accountability, apologized profusely, and accommodated us accordingly. I rarely speak to managers, if ever; but im glad I did. José really redeemed this experience for us. We will be back solely and only because of José and the time he gave us this afternoon. Thank you José, we are excited to give First Watch DTown another chance...
Read moreOur issue was with the food quality, physical food contamination, & unsanitary conditions. One of us ordered Eggs Benedict & asked for well poached eggs, but it came out runny. Potatoes were very undercooked. The meat on the benedict (ham) was refrigerated-cold and would have expected it to be warmed on the grill. I ordered a waffle with sides of fruit and bacon, which at first would have been just fine had it not been for the long black hair on top of the dolloped butter on the waffle. I noticed the hair before it was even placed on the table in front of me which I then made sure to point out this unsanitary occurrence to our waitress before she could finish placing it down on the table. When I was served a new plate, the bacon and fruit both were not fresh. The waffle wasn’t even warm which tells me nothing was remade and the butter was simply just scraped off. Fruit was old and wilted. Bacon was burnt and incinerated to a crisp. Very disappointed in the quality of food and quite frankly, disgusted by the sanitary conditions at this location as other locations quality are up to standard. Only reason I gave 2 stars instead of 1 was because our waitress, Shana, was very apologetic upon the hair accompanying the waffle and we cannot blame her for that. No manager even came by to check on us or apologize themself, so who’s held accountable?— poor customer service from a manager no where to be found. We will...
Read moreSolid breakfast. The food was mostly good. Salmon frittata, waffle and chicken sausage were all quite nice. The juices were good, and i appreciated the multi-grain buttered toast. They leave a pitcher of coffee on the table and the flavored creamers are always a nice touch.
The grits were pretty bad. They were very thick and dry and bland. No love whatsoever. The greens that came with the frittata were pulled right out of the bag, so there were a lot of thick stems. It would have been nice if they put a bit more care into picking the greens.
The staff looked a bit overwhelmed and there was a wait despite many empty tables. They clearly need to hire more people if they want to seat at full capacity. Everyone that we dealt with on the staff was nice, though our server dropped our check on the table after we’d only had our food for 5 minutes or so, which was kind of weird… maybe wait until people have had more than a couple bites of our meal. That said, we’ll come back once they’ve had some time to work things out. It’s got potential to be a regular...
