Let me start off by stating leaving a negative review was not my first choice but both the restaurant and owner was emailed over one week ago without response. During that time frame he did respond to Google reviews so here it is: My wife and I consider their Monday burger special likely the best burger we’ve both ever had despite restaurant primarily a sushi bar. Living over 20 miles away we don’t visit as often as we’d like but have been there a dozen or so times. Normally I have a beer or two with my meal while my wife enjoys two of the lunch martini special. One day I decided to mix it up and have a martini as well rather than a second beer. When the bill arrived I noticed my martini was billed full price at $12.50 rather than the $3 special. I brought this to the attention of our server Brittany who immediately became cocky saying loudly that there is a limit of 2 per guest claiming she witnessed my wife “drinking the majority” of the cocktail. Granted I saved her the garnish to eat and afterwards she tipped back the last few drops in the glass. Despite being embarrassed of her accusations grabbing the attention of the guests at the adjacent table, I took the high road by paying the $9.50 overcharge and 20% tip both in cash. Nevertheless we were mortified that your employee would treat a regular customer with such disrespect that other patrons would hear and react. I would expect this treatment from an all you can eat buffet if I only purchased one meal while my companion ate off my plate, not at a moderately upscale establishment because my wife ate the fruit and teaspoon of liquor at the bottom of my glass. Perhaps owner Tom Frank should return to managing McDonalds where harassing customers for sharing one soft drink is acceptable.

After visiting the Mercer Museum, we were looking for a spot that served food at 3.30, which surprisingly many restaurants in Doylestown don't, and finally landed on this place. They have a good offering of wines by the glass and beers, which was fantastic on a scorching day. The menu is quite large and tries to accommodate many tastes - there's sushi, tacos, burritos, and burgers - and much much more. We ordered fish tacos, which were great, but we also ordered wagyu burgers, which were not that good. The temp we ordered was medium, but all three burgers came out medium rare. The meat was also over charred and we could barely taste any flavor but char. Unfortunately, the burgers were also piled with very wet ingredients, so any other flavor (bacon, pickles) was watered down. In the end edible, but would definitely not order again. The interior decor is very disjointed, with multiple styles mashed together in an aesthetically weird way. It would be much better if they just chose one style and stick to it. While our server was personable and nice, the staff at the entrance really needs to work on their hospitality. We felt awkward while three very young employees talked amongst themselves sipping drinks at the reception, as multiple guests waited around.

I went to 86 West on a Friday night with a friend visiting from Rhode Island, and it ended up being the perfect spot for dinner and drinks. I started with the buffalo shrimp, which were on point — crispy with just the right amount of heat. I also had the mango shrimp roll and spicy tuna roll, both fresh and flavorful. The sushi here really holds up. What stood out to me was the atmosphere. The noise level was ideal — lively but not overwhelming — which made it perfect for having a business-style dinner without having to shout over loud music or crowds. After dinner, we moved over to the bar, caught the Phillies game, and had a couple of drinks. The vibe was great — relaxed but energetic. Definitely a solid spot whether you’re there for a casual night out or entertaining someone from out of town.

Overprice / mistakes and expertise is limited to seafood not steak! Set of mistakes that show inexperience of staff / chef’s cooking - particular the steak/ undercooked and over cooked / mistakes on the bill

Let us explain - we are usually customers of 86 West and knowing of SSSS was opening and part of 86. we thought ... “ 86 is good - they have put so much effort on building SSSS. must likely it will be better. We were looking forward to try State Street Steak & Seafood. We even made it a point to make a reservation and they offered a booth Unfortunately the perfect plan did not work.

Confirmed Reservation with a special request for a booth- outcome : some administrative mistake and we end up on a table. The waiter came back and acknowledge the mistake and offered a round of drinks.

For appetizers we ordered lamb lollipops - testing the chef’s expertise as this is one of my favorites and yet, I know is hard to make a good lamb dish. Outcome: lamb was undercooked and not well seasoned it was very flat.

For entree we order scallops and flank steak ( typically a delicious cut - when well seasoned) outcome: BURNED meat when the request was medium well .

Now not everything was negative- we also ordered the scallops as an entree and they were delicious and pan seared tuna as an appetizer and the presentation was not great but the taste was really good. So SSSS is more of a seafood place vs. steak place.

At the end the bill included the drinks - no problem...

Poor service, terrible meal. We visited our son for Parents weekend at DelVal, he decided on 86 West, heard it was a nice place to take his parents. I wished I had read the reviews before we went.

Ordered "Jim Jim" wine from Australia, The server Exlaimed it was a bottle not a glass- apparently we looked as if we could not afford it, so i ordered a standard club and tequila.

My husband ordered a jalapeño margarita, it came in a beer glass at $18 - he left more than half, said the worst margarita he had.

We also ordered a variety of things on menu - filet & mozzarella medallions, tasty but drenched in sauce, oyster shooter, horrible!!! - they were warm and the oyster was so big is was gross, left half of them.

Out if control roll was good, served by the man who made it apologizing for the wait, we assured him it was fine and not to worry.

My son ordered mac & cheese bites that he said were great! He also ordered the Kobe burger just cheese & bacon, it was severed with all the fixes plus a sauce - he only ate half.

Clearly our assigned server could see that we were not finishing drinks and food. He never bothered to ask if we were satisfied or wanted anything else. When the server returned he spilled someone elses drink on my husband's leg. The entire time we were waiting for a miracle hoping that the night would turn out better. $145 Bill $20 tip and a talk with the manager. Won't...
