Mesquito Grille — Restaurant in Doylestown

Can I leave zero stars? No? The customer service is probably worse than you can imagine in your head. You're thinking of bad service right now, ok, it is worse than that.

My table of two was told a ten minute wait, sure, its Friday after all. 15 minutes later (I was still patient at that point) a group of 5 walks in. Hostess asks if combining a table of two and three is ok. They are sat immediately. Fifteen more minutes pass, agravated, tired of listening to the hostess talk to her coworker about which concubine she should call tonight, we finally get sat.

At this point I decided to turn over a new leaf and not take anything out on my server. He was curteous enough, we ordered our beers. Much to my dismay, the bottled beer was warm. Not to be outdone, my new found friend, the waiter, took his sweet old time, fifteen minutes to take our order.

I have waited forty minutes for food. Is this real life? I feel like I am on an episode of Bar Rescue. The table of two who sat down twenty minutes after us, received their food before us. Steaming mad, we get our food. Thank God, Buddha, Muhammad, Tom Cruise, or whoever you worship that this food was actually quite delicious, for I don't know what else could have gone wrong

Went last night , we were seated upstairs in a smaller section . Server dropped off plates and silverware on the table and did not greet us or ask if we wanted drinks . I have been a server for 7 years so I let it slide while we decided what we wanted to eat and drink. Another 5 minutes went by and no one came by to our table . In that time another table got sat and served and we still had not . After a little longer I got fed up and we went to go sit downstairs at the bar. Ordered our drinks and food and finally started to relax and noticed about 4 or 5 ants floating in my cocktail . I picked them out and finished the drink without making a stink . Our food make its way to us and no one gave us any napkins ,silverware , or ketchup. Basically just dropped our plates and kept walking.

The only redeeming quality of this place was that the food was good but literally everything else was a disappointment and I was embarrassed to bring my out of town friend to this restaurant that obviously cared so little about its customer service. Mesquito Grill I recommend you get on top of your staff and check your drink syrups and or alcohol bottles for bugs before serving customers...

I'm so sorry I didn't take any pictures to show off their food, I assure you everything we got looked and tasted amazing. We ordered.... Fried Pickles: the batter was a little thick for some in our party, but I loved them as they were Steakhouse Salad: ingredients were well balanced and the balsamic dressing was fantastic Nacho Grande: the seasonings on the chips were the hidden gem on this dish Combo (Brisket & Ribs): the ribs were smokey & juicy - enjoyed by all, the thin cut slices of brisket were also enjoyed by all and delicious

We hope to try their wings next time!

While my husband was parking I asked if "they did anything embarrassing for birthdays?" The good natured staff said not usually but they'd talk to our server about singing. He went above and beyond to make our meal memorable with a wonderful rendition of the Birthday Song and he dropped off a special surprise too. Both were much appreciated. We sat in the bar area, at a booth. I was amazed at the level of service the bartender* gave, given that he had a practically full bar. We will DEFINITELY be back.
