As soon as we walked in, I was impressed by the decorations; they were unusual and quite beautiful. We did not have a reservation. We were offered a table downstairs but I told the hostess/server that I have some mobility issues and was unable to go down the steep stairs. At that point, we were given a table with the understanding that we had to eat in an hour and 45 minutes because the table was reserved. I asked if we could sit at another empty table, which was by the window, and was told that table was reserved. Shortly after we sat down, a couple came in, they had apparently been offered a table downstairs. I overheard the lady say she was not able to go down the stairs; at that point, an employee asked the couple to follow him. Within minutes, we noticed the couple was being escorted to a table in the lower level. I mentioned this to our server (Denise L) who said they have an elevator. It was never offered to me as an option. She said that it was darker downstairs (I had been using my phone flashlight because I needed light to read the menu) and she noticed I needed more light. When we came in and I said I was not able to walk down the stairs, she never offered me the elevator option; at that point, she did not know I was going to need my phone’s flashlight to read the menu. We ordered the bone marrow escargot as an appetizer. The sauce was tasty but heavy and I couldn’t even see the escargots. I really enjoyed the chicken pot pie. The portion was big. I thought I was not going to be able to eat it all but I was wrong. I ate it all. After we finished our dinner, we stayed in the surrounding area for quite a while. We ended up walking by this restaurant three more times and we noticed all the tables we had been told were reserved, were actually still empty. Overall, this place has good food and the unique decorations are charming. However, it is not a warm, welcoming establishment. It is not hospitable.

The ambiance is delightful and the food is pretty good. Quaint little spot on the main thoroughfare inside the old hotel. The staff was friendly but seemed to be a little inattentive during our visit. The biscuits and gravy starter was spectacular. The serving size was perfect, and the gravy was particularly well seasoned. We had Huevos Rancheros which were well proportioned, but the black bean mole was a bit overpowering at times. We also ordered the pork belly Cubano which was overall not bad, but could definitely have improved with a little more acidity from some added mustard. Worth a trip in for sure.

Perfect place for a weekend brunch with a cool, historic speakeasy atmosphere. I have lived in Doylestown my entire life and finally tried this gem. Menu has diverse options without feeling too overwhelming to read. If you aren’t too stuffed from your main course, get the creme brûlée—It’s fabulous and made in-house. Another highlight was the hot chips appetizer—if you like bleu cheese, it’s heavenly. Service was a little slow, but that’s perfect for us as we enjoy each other’s company and long, experiential dates! We will be returning and it will definitely be our go-to brunch place!

Adorable restaurant located in a lovely neighborhood in Doylestown! The decorations and layout were charming and the food was delicious. The three stars rating here is based SOLELY on our server, Abby S, who was borderline ridiculous tonight. First of all, we were seated at 7 pm. I was meeting with several friends who I have not seen in a few months and we were looking forward to catching up. As per usual, our server came to take our drink order and this is where the normal server-patron interaction ceased to exist. She proceeded to come to our table every 3 minutes for the next 30 minutes to ask if we were ready to order. We explained we were catching up and had not looked yet. The badgering became pathological and we finally ordered. Halfway through our meals at 8:05, and I mean LITERALLY mid-bite, she again came over asking if we were ready to order dessert. We were caught off guard and were getting aggravated at this point, as she had just given us our entrees 2 minutes prior. The harassment continued and we finally declined dessert at 8:30. We hoped to spend some time after our meal catching up and she continued to interrupt us every 2 minutes to ask about dessert or the tab. Throughout our entire meal, we felt rushed and irritated. I have never been badgered during a meal in such an appalling way in my life, especially considering the restaurant closes at 10 pm and it was not remotely close to that time. It was clear she wanted us to leave as quickly as possible and we found her to be extremely unwelcoming. The icing on the cake was at the end of the meal when she finally brought our tab and we noticed she had included an automatic 20% gratuity charge even though we were only a party of four. When we inquired as to whether a party of four would normally be charged an automatic 20% gratuity, we were met with a stuttering incoherent response culminating in my friend stating, “you just wanted to make sure you got your 20% tip, didn’t you?” She replied, “yes.” At this point, we considered speaking directly to the manager about her appalling behavior overall, but ultimately decided there was no point, as we have no intention of ever returning to this restaurant based on that...

Went to the Hattery for brunch with my fiance yesterday and arrived around 10:45. The following is the timeline that followed...

Upon arrival my fiance and I were told the wait was 15 minutes to eat inside (which was odd because about 30-40% of the seats inside on the floor with the bar were vacant) or we could be seated outside immediately. The weather was fine so we opted to sit outside. Immediately after sitting down, our drink order was taken (coffee & soda) and soon after our drinks were brought to us (10:50). We then ordered deviled eggs, an omelette and a burger. The deviled eggs were brought to us within 10 minutes (11:00). At around 11:15 another couple was seated outside, by which point we had ordered another coffee and soda. Ten minutes later (11:25) our drinks were brought to us and we were told our food would be right out. Ten minutes later (11:35) the waitress drops drinks off for the other couple and stops by again to tell us our food would be right out. Five minutes later (11:40) the waitress comes out with food YES, but its not for us...its for the couple who showed up 20 minutes after us! The waitress stops by AGAIN saying she promises the food is coming out. We call to her attention the fact that we were seated 20 minutes prior to the other couple but yet they were served their food prior to us. At this point our waitress becomes flustered and just keeps saying that "its coming soon, its coming soon" and goes back inside. We decide to give it ten more minutes and if nothing is out by then we would go somewhere else. Fifteen minutes go by (11:55)...its been over an hour since we ordered, and the people who arrived after us had finished their food and our food was still nowhere in site. We explained what was going on to the other couple outside and asked them to tell the waitress the next time she came out that we left. The couple said something along the lines of "we waited long for our food too", which I thought was funny given they arrived 20 minutes after us, were served AND finished prior to us even getting our food! We left money on the table and went to MOM's...where we ordered brunch and were eating it...

Stopped for brunch/lunch after a friend's graduation. The food was good. I had the Pork Belly Ruben and it was tasty, but a bit dry, my friend had the Steak Benedict which she said was great!

Service was... weird. Started off with a mistake on our part - we entered through the wrong door (accidentally) and then kind of stood awkwardly at the wrong spot for a long moment, unable to see the host station, trying to catch some staff member's eye to figure out where we were supposed to be (I didn't do anything crazy, like whistle or snap, but I did smile and wave a hand, I really don't think I was being rude...) But you know that thing where service staff seem to be avoiding eye contact? It went on long enough that I was starting to think maybe they were closing (they weren't), or my skirt was tucked into my underwear or something (it wasn't).

Anyway I finally figured out that the station was like, right there, around a corner... Oops! But the service continued pretty similarly for the rest of the experience. The host didn't say anything when I finally did find them, I had to do that awkward, "heyyyy... do you have a table available?" thing, food wasn't checked on, couldn't get anyone to look at me again when I was trying to find the restroom (including the host who this time, when I approached, actually turned away from me... Like, after I actually got to the podium... I cannot imagine he didn't see me, I was standing right there)... the check was dropped without a word or even a glance.

I swear I used all my pleases and thank yous... ordered straight from the menu with no special requests... The place wasn't packed (outside was crowded, I guess)... we didn't have loud or disruptive conversation...I did see and hear staff greet others (clearly regulars) by name, kindly and openly, and our waitress did tell me the time when I asked... So yeah. Maybe my friend or I made some faux pas that I didn't realize, I don't know. Anyway, was kind...
