Dragonfly Robata invites you to make memories and meaningful connections whether it is with loved ones or professional colleagues while enjoying fresh and creative items from their menu. While indulging on dishes, President Hiro Leung may walk around to greet you and see how you're doing or if you need anything while visiting Dragonfly Robata. If you get to meet him, you'll find that he is one of the most humble human beings you will ever meet in this life time as I believe he is to be.
Yellowtail is one of my favorite fish to eat and this definitely does it justice in the Yellowtail Crudo dish with all the flavors and freshness. It is served with heirloom cherry tomatoes, avocado, ponzu, citrus oil, and shiso to accompany the yellowtail on your palate.
For vegetarians, there's the Heirloom Cauliflower Salad as a starter. It includes carrots, mustard seeds, walnuts, yuzu vinaigrette, and micro wasabi greens. Make sure you eat it hot for the cauliflower to be crispy.
Another very popular vegetarian dish is the Maitake Mushroom Fritters. This has to be my absolute favorite dish of the night; I'd order this over the Yellowtail Crudo any day so that's saying a lot. This plays with truffle salt and a tentsuyu sauce to create unique flavors for you to enjoy. The texture is also moist and tender on the inside, yet crispy on the outside. This isn't only my favorite dish, but the favorite of many of the Dragonfly employees.
If you'd like hand held item, consider the Steamed Buns where you can choose the protein base. For protein, you can either get the braised ribs or braised pork belly and both are served with pickled vegetables and red chili paste to add a kick. We couldn't decide on the protein so we ended up getting both to try and I'm not mad about it.
I also ordered a Smoky Dragon roll. It is made with salmon, crab delight, red onion, temp flakes, cucumber topped with avocado, torched tuna, lemon zest, kobachi, and eel sauce. So many different textures, flavors and amazingness for you to explore with your tastebuds. This was quite a delight and I have no complaints, even the name is fun.
This visit was the first time I've had Foie Gras Nigiri, which is seared foil gras, plum tamarind and candied garlic. This is definitely a chef's recommendation and an interesting treat. However, it will break into pieces while picking it up with chopsticks due to how delicate it is. I would suggest using a fork or spoon.
Once done with all your little bites, don't forget about dessert. One of their unique desserts is the matcha creme brûlée. It is so earthy, yet creamy and refreshing. I highly recommend getting this...
Read moreGreat option for any event/large dining with impeccable customer service! Effortless coordinating and an awesome meal. Would definitely recommend and head back for another time!
Food, drinks, and vibes here are always good no matter the occasion but I want to rave about their events team. Event coordinator, Daniela Salinas, wait staff Ashlee and Elijah, and their Director of Operations, David Song were incredible throughout the whole experience.
Since our first inquiry for the event, coordinator Daniela Salinas was on it! She phoned us immediately after we submitted the inquiry online and promptly emailed over the event options that they had available. With my husband's internationally travel, it makes communication a bit tricky in these situations but Daniela was so kind and patient with us throughout the rounds of phone tag. She was so helpful and never missed a beat when it came to locking down the tiny details. All the way to the end, she made the whole planning process feel effortless. Daniela even stayed around on the day of our event to personally greet us and ensure everything was to our liking on the day. The Director of Operations, David Song, was there to take care over for the rest of the evening when Daniela left for the day. We had no issues on the night but I'm sure if we did, David would've rectified them on the spot.
Our waitstaff Ashlee and Elijah were rock stars. The size of the party was no issue for them. Both were super polite and just on their game. They went out of their way to personally greet every single one of our guest as they arrived in different stages of the night. No one was left waiting for anything at any point as they were always there to help.
Drinks, food, staff, booking process were 10/10.
For those interested in the process: events here are designed with set menus but when I mentioned some dietary restrictions for two of our guest, we were quickly presented with a full vegetarian menu and other swaps to accommodate them. The contract was a breeze even with our slight adjustments as again, Daniela was awesome. Payment was taken on the day of the event at the restaurant which included food, reserved event space, all gratuity cost, and soft drinks. Our guest order additional cocktails which could be added to your final bill or separated for your guest to pay their own portion - very convenient. There was plenty of food to go around which was served Izakaya (family style) adding to the overall experience...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of visiting Dragonfly Robata Grill & Sushi Dragonfly in Orlando, and while my experience had a few minor hiccups, it was overall quite enjoyable. I would rate it 3.5 stars out of 5. Let me share the highlights with you.
Our server, a friendly and attentive young Black male who stood about 6 feet tall, was exceptional (I apologize I didn’t ask his name usually I do July 14th shift). Despite not catching his name, his great personality and table manners left a lasting impression. He made sure we were well taken care of throughout our visit.
Moving on to the vibe, I found it to be nice and chill. The lighting was perfectly balanced, not too bright or too dim. The decor added a touch of sophistication to the atmosphere. While the space wasn't as spacious as I usually prefer, it didn't feel cramped. Dragonfly Robata Grill & Sushi Dragonfly is definitely a great spot for a date night. However, if you're planning on having private conversations, be aware that others may overhear, even if you speak at a lower volume. Thankfully, the ambient sound acts as a gentle white noise, providing a sense of privacy.
Now, let's dive into the food. I ordered the volcano roll and the crunch roll, and both were satisfying. However, I found the crunch roll was good. I also took a moment to inspect the table, silverware, and glasses, and I'm pleased to report that everything was clean. As someone who values cleanliness, this attention to detail is greatly appreciated. It shows that the establishment takes pride in maintaining a hygienic environment.
I must mention that the prices at Dragonfly Robata Grill & Sushi Dragonfly are on the higher side. However, it's worth considering that you're not only paying for the food but also for the ambiance and the location. Windermere isn't exactly the place to go if you're trying to stretch your pennies. That being said, if you're seeking a dining experience that combines great food with a pleasant atmosphere, Dragonfly Robata Grill & Sushi Dragonfly won't disappoint.
My meal and overall experience at Dragonfly Robata Grill & Sushi Dragonfly were enjoyable. The attentive service, pleasing ambiance, and tasty food left a positive impression. While there were a few areas for improvement, it didn't detract significantly from the overall experience. If you're in the area and looking for a dining spot with a touch of sophistication, I would recommend giving Dragonfly Robata Grill & Sushi...
