Summary: Absolutely highly recommend reserving a time and enjoying the omakase experience here at Sushi Izuki. All staff are very attentive and super kind. The food was amazing, nice balance of taste without certain flavors being too overwhelming. Will definitely be coming here again soon. Thank you for a memorable experience! My partner and I sat in one of the tatami rooms for our omakase and we really enjoyed the ambiance it provided while dining. The lighting was just right (not too bright but not too dark either which I feel a lot of sushi restaurants serving omakase make their restaurants tad too dark). The seats themselves do move, but stay well in place once you're seated and were comfortable. We came on a Wednesday night, so it was also quiet where I could have a nice conversation with my partner without issue.
Zhi (Zi?, really sorry if I misspell it, forgot to ask how to spell your name), was our host and waiter throughout the experience. He's very knowledgable when it comes to sushi, explaining the ingredients used for each course as they were served, how it was made, and great conversationalist about the flavors each course had.
One really notable thing that stuck out for me about the whole experience and elevated the service was how whenever we mentioned certain taste preferences like how a sushi I ate the charring from the torch felt a little too overwhelming, he took the feedback and asked the chef to be light on the torching on a later course, or adding a bit more of an ingredient to help balance out the taste for my partner all without us prompting. It came about because he asked how we thought of each course after we finished, and we'd say it was delicious, which was our favorite, which was our least, etc. Just casual conversation.
Their plates are really pretty and beautiful. I couldn't stop complimenting on them as each course was served. Nice plates aren't a necessity, but when combined with the beautiful plating of their food it was well appreciated. A lot of thought definitely going into the presentation.
The whole staff was attentive and super super nice. The boss there even made a nice bouquet for my partner to celebrate our anniversary which was really cute.
My partner and I really loved the whole experience, best omakase we've had so far, and we're really looking forward to coming back in the...

The food presentation was beautiful — however one appetizer, was overpowered by an excessive amount of soy sauce, masking the delicate flavor of the fish. To further enhance the experience, I’d recommend offering low-sodium soy-free sauce and gluten-free miso and dairy-free for guests with dietary preferences or restrictions. It would also be helpful if the restaurant asked about food allergies or dietary restrictions needs at the time of reservation. This would allow the kitchen to prepare thoughtful alternatives that align with the original menu, rather than relying on improvised substitutions. A small change like this could make a big difference in ensuring all guests feel equally considered and cared for, with that said, the staff made a last-minute accommodation, which was greatly appreciated. two servers asked guests if the preset menu was ok, making it sound as there was an alternative. To preserve the integrity of the experience, only one server should introduce the menu—framing it as a thoughtfully curated omakase journey—and warmly invite guests to enjoy it. That kind of confidence and clarity is essential to delivering a genuine omakase experience, also three different servers asked about allergy, and a fourth asked if ginger was okay—without understanding the nature of actual allergens. I strongly suggest implementing more comprehensive training for your staff, including: • Allergy awareness and how to communicate confidently with guests • Clear understanding of preset menus and how to present them • Better communication around drink offerings including glass-bottled spring water, which is a preferred choice for many due to its purity, sustainability, and elegant presentation.
Lastly I would suggest to elevate the atmosphere, soft instrumental Japanese music would beautifully complement a minimalist setting, enhancing the ambiance and gently masking background chatter, making the experience more enjoyable.
I’m sharing this feedback not out of criticism, but because I believe your restaurant has great potential—and with a few adjustments, it could offer a truly exceptional and safe dining experience...
Read moreTried it, but didn’t stand out. When you first look at this spot, the signature lighting of the place and ambiance is beautiful, but they have this tacky laminated taped sign to the front window “grand opening”. kinda off putting. anyways, you walk in, it’s beautiful, the lighting was amazing, the look of the place is awesome. we sat at the chefs counter to do the tasting menu. if you do end up sitting at the chefs counter… it is crowded if all clients show up. the chairs aren’t very comfortable. i was wearing a skirt and was having a hard time sitting there through the meal.
the food: at first its good, then it continues to get better, truffles, caviar, foie gras.. then you are like okay this is why i paid $150. bc at first you have a few first dishes and there’s nothing extravagant about them. so you’re like why am i paying $150 for this but as u go into the different courses then i guess it justifies the price.
the down parts: although the ambiance is pretty good, it also gives tacky. the laminated menus (just print new ones) what are we in a chinese fast food place? … the bathroom was just underwhelming, it’s the little details that they need to work out.
customer service: chefs were good. the host needs to relax a bit. please stop asking people after EVERY single course, “how was it”, “how did you like it”, “which one did you like better”. I felt obligated to say it was good EVERY TIME. like i’m not gonna say what i really think as i’m trying to experience the meals. let clients just enjoy and experience their time. ask these questions at the end of the final main dish, to get feedback. don’t harasse people at every dish. pls.
overall: food was pretty good. experience was okay. would i go again? no. was it worth trying? i guess. idk. i think there’s a lot more sushi places that are worth it for that pricing and you’re getting ambiance & all the...
