I am an interior designer and have to say, this is one of the cutest restaurants I have been to in a while!
My sister and I lost our father so had to go down the street from this location to make final arrangements. We were hungry and ready for a drink and the League Kitchen and Tavern totally delivered.
The inside Decor is very well thought out, had the most comfortable bench seating, and club chairs in a beautiful turquoise color. I love the mural wall moment. The bar was well appointed and the chairs looked comfortable.
Our server was extremely friendly and very quick service, she had great follow-up.
To start with we ordered drinks from the bar menu which had some delicious options. I got the shandy and my sister had the blood orange prosecco. These things are dangerous! Perfectly crafted. We order the smoked deviled eggs but subbed bacon instead of the smoked salmon. They were amazing, we gobbled them up!
My sister ordered the Green Chile Chicken Macaroni and I ordered the Chipotle meatloaf. The macaroni was creamy with the perfect balance of flavor, the meatloaf was tender and had fried onions on top. The gravy was a fabulous.
It was an absolutely impeccable experience. Speaking with the manager who stopped by, he mentioned there are several throughout the Austin area. I'm looking forward to trying those as well. Great...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFantastic spot to bran a bite or watch a game. Food was impressive. Good service. Started with the meatloaf bites. I wanted to try the deviled eggs (next time!) but son wanted the loaf. Wasnāt excite and playing was kinda weird (itās meatloaf after all) but was a delightful surprise! Quite nice. A little heavy for an app but would order again. Son had fish and chips add truffle the the chips. Was fantastic. Probably the most perfect batter fried fish Iāve seen. Chips great too. I was torn between shrimp and grits vs all day breakfast. Went breakfast with poached eggs. Poached were great. Served on the plate which usually means enough of water makes it over to sog up the rest of the items but care was taken to properly dry the eggs which does not go unnoticed. Bacon was fantastic. Not as too heavy on the sweetness and crisp how I like it. Biscuit solid and fresh. JalapeƱo gravy superb. The real shocker was the hash browns. I havenāt had perfectly done hash browns in a long time and these were spot on. Like them a little more buttery but as long as they have a proper crispy exterior Iām in breakfast heaven. Aside from the food, clean bathrooms and decent draft selection. Guess itās a little pricy but for the food quality and comparable in Austin itās really not. Great bang for the Buck IMO. If I could do 4.5 stars would...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI went twice and left completely disappointed both times.
The first time I was with my young daughter. They offered to make her a kids' pizza, which is not on the menu. I ordered the fish and chips, which is listed as a featured dish. Both were inedible. Two of the pieces of "fish" had no fish inside the breading, and everything was overcooked. After reading reviews, they clearly need to pull the fish and chips off the menu. Many bad reviews seem to mention the fish and chips. The pizza is off the menu for a reason. No one asked how our food was, they just came by and dropped off the bill. The only good thing I can say is that someone came over to my daughter and offered her a plate of fruit while we waited for our food, which we were not charged for. If everything else was decent, that act could have made this a 5 star review.
The second time, my wife planned a date night here without telling me where we were going. When we arrived I told her about the previous experience. She asked that I give it another try, and I agreed. We ordered two glasses of wine to start. The waitress came back a few minutes later with two empty wine glasses, set them down, and walked away with no explanation. After waiting about 5 to 10 minutes, still no wine in our glasses, and no follow up from the...
