Updated review! My family and I stopped by for dinner after seeing a movie at Evo. The menu was completely updated with delicious sounding dishes. My husband and son said the burgers were phenomenal and perfectly cooked, the chicken sandwich was the best my other son has ever eaten, and my pork tenderloin was succulent, perfectly seasoned and absolutely delicious. We had the sweetest server who was just the right amount of attentive. I think they have found their groove! We are excited to come back and already planning future dishes we want to try. Bravo!
Original: This place has potential, but definitely need to work out service and menu kinks. It’s a lovely atmosphere and a sweet-looking patio. We didn’t order wine but I could definitely see coming back for a glass and appetizers. We ordered the street corn, burrata salad and squash. The street corn came out as just a small plate of grilled corn kernels, no cheese, dressing, etc. When we sent it back, it came out with a glob of Caesar over the top. Not very appetizing. The buratta was fine but nothing special and definitely not a $12 salad. The squash was good, but it was a confusing plate of food and hard to eat; big strips of squash with the skin still on, a clump of onions and jalapeños, and three small gnocchi. After waiting a while for our food and watching a chaotic scene of the few staff trying to manage a busy room, we were told their computers had crashed. I’ll give it another try, but it wasn’t a good...
Read moreI’m not sure what is going on, but the kitchen is super inconsistent. When things are good they are amazing, but when they are bad, it’s really bad. Bad was our Friday evening this week. The dining room was busy but had open tables. We ordered our usuals relatively quickly and an appetizer. 10 minutes after ordering we were told they ran out of steak. No big deal, so we picked the salmon instead. 30 minutes later we still didn’t even have our appetizer. Our server came out and told us they were having some delays in the kitchen, apologized and told us they’d comp us a drink or appetizer. Roughly 10 minutes later we realized no one had any food other than a cheese board in the entire restaurant and the servers hadn’t been seen in awhile. We flagged ours down and asked how bad is it, are we talking a few minutes or another hour. She replied that honestly it’s a meltdown situation and that they also didn’t have the salmon (30 minutes after our revised sans steak order was placed). She clearly was doing all she could but something in the kitchen was very very wrong. At that point we said okay, we can just do. They kindly gave us our glass of wine and two sodas on the house, but it was very disappointing for a restaurant of this caliber. A real shame since this had been one of our favorite...
Read moreThe Iberico pork Pressa steak, the "Waygu of pork" as the server described it, came out beyond well done, dry and impossible to chew, it was served with crispy coated French fries. The pork tenderloin did not include the menu stated garnish or tomatoes, artichokes and gremolata. None of the meats were seasoned. No temperature preferences were ever requested . When I asked if I could get the pork cooked medium rare or medium as a Pressa cut should be, we were told the "Waygu of Pork" was only served well done.
All the entrees came out with fries. The chicken thighs were overcooked and crispy, completely devoid of any moisture whatsoever. We never requested a manager but after two conversations a manager never came by to check on us. We did get two items comped, but for the amount of money we paid, it was extremely disappointing.
Being a Monday, I'm assuming the chef and GM were both off. We did see someone in nice clothes peeking around the corner from the kitchen as the server struggled to split our check.
It's a beautiful restaurant and well stocked with high quality wine and prepared foods. The menu however does not hold up to any scrutiny. Would love to hear from...
