VJ's Burgers — Restaurant in Duarte

Great little burger spot that could be perfect with some adjustments on my part. Not everything is on the menu, but they weren’t happy to accommodate if you ask. Ended up ordering way to much because they were accommodating, but that’s on me :)

Wanted a pastrami burger combo, which is not on the menu, but they hooked it up. Also wanted to try the onion rings and zucchini, which they were able to do half/half. $10 even if you order just one, so cool they didn’t up charge for the split, but still kind of high. Best part of the meal though! They also offered to add chili and cheese to my fries, so really got to try it all. Fries were a bit soggy, so need to order well done next time. Only part of the meal I didn’t fully enjoy.

Next time I’m just going to order the burger combo with onion rings or zucchini and pat the up charge vs a full order for $10 and have way too much left over, but again, that’s on me :)

3 out of 5 at best. Very friendly service and clean Semus, the burgers are just too overcooked and saturated to compete with the likes of all the other Tommy's knockoffs. This is not meant to compete with in and out it's a whole different type of eating experience and there are many places like this most notably Norm's on Whittier Boulevard in Whittier that are five out of five in my book. However if you can find the place cuz it's sort of attached to the back end of a strip mall like a postage stamp that fell off a letter, then you certainly can find some other Alternatives which I'm sure judging by the smiles on other customer's faces exceed the scrump-dilly-icious factor of the burgers. Maybe I'll be back if I'm in this neck of the woods...

This location is great. The food is always fresh and Jose who is the owner is always nice. He and his wife make sure that all the food is made fresh from the salsa to the guacamole. It is a little pricey, but it’s definitely worth it knowing that you’re not getting a bunch of chemicalized food The burgers are great. The salads are good. Love the French toast. Everything you get here is always made fresh nothing ever sits around. I do sometimes have to ask for the french fries to be fresh or a little bit crispy but other than that everything is always good always delicious. The portions are great and the pricing is not bad. They do have burger deals but again 10 out of 10....
