I realize it is the holidays but, I am partially disabled from a car accident that has left me with disc replacement in my neck and back and surgery on both knees. The other driver was texting and driving and rear-ended me at a red light. I use the electric carts inside large stores like Walmart and sometimes need assistance inside the store. They had only 1-2 regular registers open and we're pushing hard to get people to use the self checkout. When I got to the self checkout the register was dirty and looked like it had not been wiped down for weeks. There were NO bags in the entire self checkout area. It was not a large purchase. I spent between. $45 to $50 in total. There were 3 employees in the self checkout area that for the most part were talking to each other more than anything else. I asked the one, that was wearing a yellow Walmart employee vest, if I could get a bag to put my purchases in. She looked around and said "Oh, I guess we will have to get some from one of the regular registers". She then returned to talking and playing with the 2 other Walmart employees and made no attempt to assist me in any other way. When she looked back at me and saw me loading my purchases back into the basket on the electric carts. She then asked me if I was finished as their were other customers waiting for a register and a line had formed. The overall condition of the store was dirty and unkept, poorly stocked. Every employee I came across in the main area of the store was pushing or pulling a cart or basket. I had to go around isles because the products I needed to look at were blocked by employees that did not even bother to acknowledge that they were blocking access or in the way. We are now close to the year mark with this horrible pandemic. I myself am in a high risk catagory. My husband is a dialysis patient and I am a primary care provider for my 80+ year old mother. Had I known the condition of the store and the poor assistance I was going to receive I would have NEVER exposed myself and/or my family to the events and risks of this shopping trip. I am a long time Walmart customer and have always been loyal dispite other issues that have come up especially in the media. It calls my previous and future decisions about shopping with Walmart into question. Please bare in mind this NEW normal is causing everyone to reevaluate what we will and will not consider safe on all new terms. I was not really as upset as I was terribly disappointed....
Read moreI I could give this store and the guest services negative 20 I would! Let this also serve as a warning or “fine print” to anyone who orders online orders from Walmart. So I ordered a Nintendo switch OLED for my son, but it turns out that my son is far too young for something like this. I thought it was like an old school game boy. He just doesnt know how to navigate it, he’s too young.
Anyhow, I started the process online to return the item it was supposed to be not a big deal and a smooth transaction. When I got to the store there the girl at the customer service section looked oblivious and confused. She began to do the transaction and then when she opened the box started looking and checking serial numbers on the hardware. Upon checking it, she said that the numbers didn’t match and then unfortunately they couldn’t accept it. I was alarmed and I told her I’m not sure what you need from me, I am following protocol and this is an item i received from online from that particular store.
They had me call 1800 Walmart, they said they needed to help me. So I spoke to three different agents. I had all of them them telling me to go back to the store. I went back to the store and ended up speaking to their store manager named Luis. He was absolutely rude and condescending and aside from that just completely incapable of showing human compassion to understand where was coming from. Not only did he not help me, but he humiliated me and I ended up back on square one where he was adamant that they were not going to help me and that they had not received any emails regarding my particular situation. I cannot, I repeat I cannot believe that they have such people working there. After my last two attempts at contacting the people at one 800 Walmart, they stated that that store absolutely 100% needs to receive the item and not give me any more grief. They said they don’t understand why they won’t help me or take the item. I don’t know what to do so I’m going to try another store. They should absolutely not have managers like Luis or that one girl behind the counter...
Read moreIn the end the MOD aka Manager on Duty located a six pack of smart water for me. If I had not pushed the issue with the associate(s) signed to self check I would have left the store without making my water purchase. Three different self check associates told me that they could NOT ring up six single bottles of smart water as a six pack of smart water. If the product in the six pack is the same as the single item product, why wouldn't you sell 6 single bottles to the custoner as a six pack? I even took a picture of the shelf label which included the bar code and the price. In fact after two floor associates said they weren't familiar with the item as a 6 pack, I used Walmarts app to look up the item. The item was in stock. It said it was ready for pick up today at the Duarte store. If I had not used the app I definitely would not have been able to purchase the water. The MOD said the inventory was listed as -2. I said, It's listed as in-stock for me. I was even able to add it to my cart."Everybody knows an OOS item cannot be added to a cart or purchased online or in-store. Basically that is the purpose of the OOS function. You can't sell what you don't have. If OOS items could be purchased, inventory counts would be a mess. The system would essentially shut itself down over time. Zero counts (which are necessary to ensure stores are properly replenished) would be incorrect and create real havoc from the DC to the store and everything in between. The MODs numbers should have been the same numbers that showed the item in stock in the walmart app. Her supposed -2 should have prevented me from adding the item to my cart. It didn't which leads me to believe that she was giving false/incorrect information to get rid of me. As soon as I showed the MOD the item was in my cart, she said to give her a minute. In all honesty I assumed she would come back empty handed. My assumption was incorrect. The MOD back peddled and did the right thing in the end. I respect that enough to...
