IHOP — Restaurant in Duarte

Came here for a nice brunch and ordered chicken and waffles with coffee and the sirloin tip with caramelized onions and mushrooms and a substitute on the pancakes for the salad. I must say the service and atmosphere are impeccable. Very nice staff and place looks clean and very welcoming. This locations is very close to home so I enjoy the atmosphere and people that come here. Now for the food. And I'm just saying this from my own opinion, so please take it with a grain of salt because my taste buds might not be the same as yours. So, the chicken and waffles were underwhelming, it was quite salty and over battered. Had several small pieces and really for the price they offer of 17$ is very expensive for this dish. Pancakes were great as always. The coffee was good had an option for French vanilla creamer or half and half. The steak and eggs are always a hit or miss, I ordered the sirloin steak and eggs $20 and there was an issue with the eggs as I always order sunny side to see if the cook really knows his stuff. Also I ordered medium rare steak as these 2 options were available and are quite difficult to achieve. 1. my dish came out with raw eggs. The edges of course were cooked white yolk and as you know the egg white should be white not clear. Well all of the center of the 2 eggs were crystal clear. Nevertheless, I got that situated. Now for the medium rare steak, yes some bites were cooked to perfection but other bites were fully cooked to the point where they were a bit tough to chew. They flavor was all there. But is it worked it? You decide. Lmk if you do order this same exact dish and see if they improved or not. Their salad was delicious as always and well, maybe I'll come back . I'm certified professional national food manager. I just came to this place. Staff is very friendly and respectful. The food is good and well cooked. Although the dishes and untensils are not well washed. My soup dish had spot from previous used that were very noticeable from passed uses. As well had finger prints marks chich means they grave the dishes with their bare hands where they place your food. I talked to my waitress (Autumn) and let her no that the diah was filthy and that had finger prints on the insight of my soup bowl. She said that she spelled around the soup and she used a towel to clean the dish. I let her know despite the cleaning marks of the soup she spelled. The spots all around the dish is very noticeable that is from passed uses and that fingerprints are inside of the dishes. I gave her some advice to please be careful with this. Due is not hygine and it is against food and healthy safety codes. She then asked me to if I wanted to speak to manager I told her no. She then asked if I wanted to get it off my check I told her know. I let her know that I'm just giving her an advise. She kept on insisting me to talk to the manager it seems like if it was a challenge. I told her no, I was just giving an advise and let her know due to stuff like this some restaurants do close down if they don't follow food and health codes. Dear IHOP refunding a meal or taking of the check does not fixes the issue and the risk of germs, disease you'll give to your customers . You must train well your staff and be sure to complete and meet proper hygine for use of untensils and cooking tools for the handle of your food.

My girlfriend and I go here sometimes cause my girlfriend is obsessed with iHop and the quality of food is always better than dennys for sure.

Usually our service is great but this one was eh. But since it's usually great Im still giving this ihop a 4-star.

Service: We usually get this sweet lady named elizabeth and usually everyone is on-point. This time we only saw or waitress once to give us the check and water. Someone else took our order and its kinda bad when the host is more attentive than the waitresses.

Extra thumbs up for Jovanne! He sat us, waited our table for us and saw him brooming on his freetime.

Food took quite awhile to come up. It was busy busy or dead but just wondering why food wasnt coming out. Seeing at the kitchen I see 10 plates full of food and nothing was coming out? With a good amount of waitresses too... hmm..

Like I said, usually this iHop is better but this wasnt the best. Hopefully I will change it to a 5 star...
