I went to this restaurant for dinner with my 5 yrs daughter; we ordered one dish. I was shocked by the 16% service fee being charged as soon as I got the bill. I ask the waitress, Batini, about the service fee for two people and one dish. She said it was the tip. The food was not good. Steam rice was old and hard to chew, char sui was too thin and dry. And service was just ok like all the other fast food restaurants. I told her I was happy to pay the tips according to the service, but she could not charge me what she wanted. Then Batini asked me to wait and called another waitress to take care of my bill. She was just as cold as the Batini and asked me to pay. I asked her what the service fee was. Then she pointed out the fine print at the bottom of the menu. I did not notice that; their waitress should have reminded all the customers. On top of that, they put a tax on the service fee in the bill. I am not going back again. Since the pandemic, their food quality has not been as good as before, and service could have been better...
Read moreTheir pork katsu curry is my favorite. I have had so many katsu curry all over the place, and their katsu curry is absolutely the best. After eating their katsu curry, I could not enjoy katsu curry any more. No other katsu is this tender. It is so good it’s almost addicting. The outside is crunchy and the inside gives you just the right amount of tenderness - not mushy, not chewy, very juicy. It has good portion too. They give two pieces of katsu. I’ve got this dish 3 or 4 times and it’s consistently delicious. Not sure about the other dishes - I’ve tasted other dishes here but nothing hits like this katsu.
The curry is different from other places curry - I think it’s from one of those yellowish chinese curry powder? Personally I liked it but I can see why others may prefer Japanese curry more.
The katsu is actually so good that I am in Hawaii right now and I cannot stop thinking about it. This katsu is life changing. I need to pay the chef a visit next time and...
Read moreThey just remodeled and it looks and feels very clean. Tables were well spaced apart and all the workers were wearing face masks correctly and gloves.
Ordered: Hainan chicken with slow cooked chicken ginseng broth (you can def taste the ginseng) Baked pork chop rice Wonton with rice noodles HK style milk tea (hot)
Flavors were just right. I liked that the pork chop were not fried and it had just the right amount of sauce. I really liked the broth that came with the Hainan chicken. The milk tea tasted authentic but a little sweet to me (but I’m also the one that orders 0 sweet at boba places) but the lady was very nice and added some tea to my drink to balance it out. Good portions and very attentive staff. We will def be back to...
