The only reason I am giving this place two stars is because the margaritas were on point considering the price. However, we just stopped by because we were out of town and hungry. Our server seemed friendly, although she was not up to speed. We asked for extra salsa as well as napkins at the very beginning before we even ordered. We never received the salsa until after the food came out and the napkins came after the meal. We ordered the poblano fajitas for 12 dollars and didn’t receive the shrimps, the side plate came with probably a spoonful of beans which looked as if they came from a can and the guacamole seemed as if it came out of a bag. Nothing, including the salsa, looked homemade. The fagitas barely came with any poblano peppers even though that was supposed to be the main ingredient considering the name of the dish. We also ordered a bean/cheese dip which we had to call a manger over because it was pretty much only cheese dip and a little amount of beans. I’m not usually one to complain, especially because I’ve been serving for years. However, this was absolutely the worst Mexican food and service I have ever had. This says a lot considering I work at a Mexican restaurant. Never caught the servers name but considering how slow it was and the manager should know exactly what happened, it should not be hard to figure out. Also, on a side note, we came in at 5 pm on a Monday, we were charged full price on these regular 18oz margaritas which was 6.25. As we were walking out, a sign was posted for happy hour that ended at 6 pm about 3.50 margaritas which our server neglected to inform us about. I’m not sure if it was pure ignorance or she was trying to receive a better tip, but we definitely pointed it out on our way out. I hate to post this review, however co side ring I’m a server and I work at a Mexican/Mayan restaurant myself, I’m extrenely disappointed about every part of our service including the food. I hope this will be some constructive criticism and this place steps...
Read moreSummary: food is dry, salsa is good, service is excellent.
The food is 3 star worthy at best, with the chips and Salsa and sweet tea being the best part of the meal. The service is 4 to 5 stars. We got a burrito and a plate, both had essentially the same meats. The chicken and steak in all of it was super dry. I didn't enjoy it at all. The tortillas they give you on the side are oversized corn tortillas that fall apart as soon as you pick them up. Useless for wrapping. The only thing that saved this night was the service. I loved the southern hospitality here. The owner came out right when our food arrived to ask how everything is, which was appreciated but a bit early since I hadn't taken any bites. He did seem to be ontop of his game as far as that goes, but did also chase us out the door to make sure we didn't take off with his 10 cent pen...not the best ending to the night...but I might still visit again to get some great service, chips and salsa, and try...
Read moreNot bad, not good, just more mid than anything food-wise. Drinks are good, everything was priced great for the portions. Service felt a little rushed but I'm pretty sure they were busy on the other side of the restaurant, so we didn't take it personally. I'm from Cali so naturally I expect everything to be packed with flavor, unfortunately the ground beef tasted like it had been canned in water. Again, it wasn't bad, just not in my top faves. More than likely I'd go back for the chips, they were super good, even though the salsa was a little mid and again the drinks were good. Everyone was nice, we just felt like the manager (assuming) seemed like he doesn't really like his job, even though he was pleasant. All in all, I enjoyed myself it was definitely an experience going down in the books. My co-driver said her food wasn't bad, just lacked a little bit of flavor. I'd recommend for a quick bite to dine in and after work drinks and new...
