This place is perfect in all aspects.
Just for context:
We were coming from Yellowstone National Park to our home in Denver and on our way we stopped at Cowboy Cafe to have lunch.
We were a group of 8, including a 3 year old boy. Also, it was the birthday of one of us.
Food: We were excited to taste bison/buffalo/elk burgers so we ordered the Wyoming Beasty and the OYB Buffalo. It is accompanied by a variety of options so we choose French fries and onion rings.
We were surprised about how fast our order was served. After no more than 5 or 10 minutes all our food was on the table, exactly as we ordered it.
Every single bite was delicious and food presentation was amazing.
Drinks: Two pitchers of water were served instantly as we sit. As soon as the pitcher was going down they ran to refill it.
We ordered pink lemonade and tried the Grand Teton Amber beer. Lemonade was good. The beers were served in a frozen jar making our experience more delightful.
Also, at the end we ordered some coffee and it was fresh and tasty.
Service: We were greeted by a kind young teenager who asked us about the drinks and when we asked about local beers she apologized and said that another person will serve us because she cannot serve alcohol. We liked that and in a few seconds an adult server took our order. Both were polite, kind and very helpful. They made our experience even better.
Dessert: We tried some of their Homemade Pies, specifically the blueberry and the peach caramel crunch and they were delicious as well. For our birthday friend, they put ice cream on top and added a birthday candle. Those were the best pies we ever tried.
Finally, I have to share that I forgot my wallet in the restaurant. About 3 hours later I realized that and called. They confirmed that they had my wallet and I explained that I was on my way to Denver and they asked me my address, name and phone number so they can mail it to me. 3 days later my wallet was in my mailbox.
I am so thankful for the honesty and integrity of this business.

Read moreJust leaving a constructive, not a negative, review of my experience. We had the Mediterranean Skillet and the Pesto Sourdough. I found the portion size to be pretty small comparatively to all the places I’ve had a skillet. The veggies inside were delicious with the cowboy potatoes. My toast was pretty much burnt sadly, and I found it would have been better if the Swiss cheese on top of my skillet were the “real” shredded kind instead of a square “fake” one. I paid about $16.50 for my meal (skillet/hash browns) counting my tip and I am leaving hungry unfortunately. My friend had the pesto sourdough and was very confused why the sourdough was not toasted, and it also needed more pesto. It would have made the meal better. She also felt the side of hash browns was really small. Our waitress (July 13th @ 9:30) was working very hard to keep the place clean and make sure everyone had what they needed! She was super nice at the door even though she was clearly very busy serving and cleaning. The food came out at a decent time. We would just like to have seen a bit larger...
Read moreLet me start off by saying I am a hard girl to please, especially with food. The steak was 20/10! I never eat steak without A1 but this didn’t need it. I ordered it with a baked potato and upgraded to a loaded. Even the vegetables were delicious (just a mix of peas and carrots) but SO good. And with a grilled garlic clove too!! What! We drove 27 hours from home and this is our first vacation out west, disappointed with food along the way and exhausted from not being nourished correctly, the Cowboy Cafe surpassed our expectations and they understood the assignment. We will be back to see Dubois Wyoming every year until we die! America needs this town and we have to support it with everything we have. Thank you to the hard working staff at the Cowboy Cafe and the residents that keep this town and its stores functioning for people like us! Much love forever and may God...
