After last night, I was ready to leave a fabulous review of this restaurant...the food was great, the wine selections by the bottle were fantastic and my server Angela was super attentive, professional and overall provided excellent service. The experience was so great, that I made a reservation to come here AGAIN tonight.
After arriving and sitting at the table for 10 minutes, a waiter that was not responsible for my table, stopped by to give me some water and said my server would be there “momentarily” (I was indeed very grateful he stopped by even though I wasn’t in his section!) After a few more minutes I seriously considered walking out, and eating elsewhere. When she did finally arrive, I got the impression (and maybe I was completely wrong) that this particular sever doesn’t value “single” customers so much...maybe we arent deemed worthy of the time and effort - as there is only one person ordering food and drink.
The previous night, I happened to order and enjoy the most expensive bottle on the menu and a 12 oz ribeye - and would argue my $200 tab was higher than most couples around me. After this perceived apathy toward my “table of one”, I decided to go smaller and have wine by the glass and a pasta.
The table next to me (that ordered the same dish as I did from the same server) received a salad that was piled high with the goodness I received the night before...mine barely covered the plate (see previous reviewer talking about playing “operation” trying to eat the salad there!) The pasta was brought out before I was done with the salad - thankfully the bolognese was actually pretty damn good. All in all, the server may have swept by to check on me once or twice - even then, it was while she was still in motion on her way to another table.
To summarize: if you look at my other reviews, you will see that I tend to praise the restaurants and service that are deserving of it ...I am not a complainer. I do believe however that the experience to be had here, is highly dependent upon the server you have. Given the opportunity, ask for Angela! Read moreWow, where to begin. In short this restaurant is FANTASTIC. We visited this establishment on 6/10 at 530. Decided to try the restaurant based on the menu when we were walking around Dubois. Made a simple reservation the night before and when we showed up we were seated right away by a very nice and gracious host.
Upon being seated we noticed the very elegant but casual environment. This we really appreciated simply because we had not planned to have such a dinner while on our trip to WY. Well needless to say we were glad we found this place.
Our server was absolutely superb. (I wish I could remember her name). She was prompt polite helpful and very professional. We loved how everyone worked as a team to provide excellent customer service, from water to bread service and even to dinner.
We started off our night with deliciously made pineapple mojitos. Don’t know if you guys make those regularly but you should. They are made perfectly. For dinner I had the blue cheese burger (recommended by our excellent server) and the s/o had the elk burger. And man were we not disappointed. One of the best burgers we have honestly ever had. I know you guys are known for your steaks but the burgers are also to DIE for. Excellently cooked and the prices were more then reasonable.
Our overall experience was seriously impeccable and will be a place we talk about for years to come. It was really cool to see that a lot of locals come to this restaurant, so we knew we were in the right place.
Please thank our server if you can and also apologize for us for camping. We were just having such a lovely time with the whole experience we really took our time. And while I noticed our server check on us from a distance she never bothered us or seem perturbed that we might have been taking longer then the normal customer. We seriously loved the ambiance of the restaurant and the food was divine.

Read moreI want to preface the following statement by stating that I spent over 25 years in the hospitality industry and have a great deal of experience in making sure that the customer is properly serviced. I have traveled through Dubois for over 20 years I have stopped at numerous businesses during that time and have enjoyed excellent service whether it's at the supermarket's a filling station 2nd hand store or any one of the other restaurants located in town. This restaurant was recommended to me by a long time friends wife they said the food was delicious and the service was excellent. When we arrived we were seated quickly it took a little while to get service however it was a Friday night and the restaurant was packed. However once service was finally rendered it was 30 minutes between the time we ordered our food and received it. During that time at the 20 minute mark our waitress came to the table and told us that it would be another minute for the hamburger to be finished however it was an additional 10 minutes before the food was brought to the table. It seems she had ample time however to stand at the register and visit with other employees. The food was not great and it was not bad. However based on the service the overall experience was a complete disappointment. It is not often that I make the statement that I will not be back to a business or location however in this instance I will not be back and I will not be recommending to anybody that they stop and enjoy food and service at this location because I found both to be lacking. I did purpose to wait 12 hours from the time we left the restaurant to the time of this posting thinking perhaps that a good night's sleep might change my reflection upon the experience it did not.
