One of the WORST places I've ever eaten - no exaggeration.
This review is for the attached building labeled "STEAKHOUSE", not the bar.
The steakhouse is the only restaurant open past 9PM and so it was our only option after driving in for the weekend. The fact that no one was sitting inside should have been a dead giveaway that we should just move on, but we were hungry.
After waiting awhile to get service, we were finally greeted and sat. Our basic drinks (water and tea) took probably 5 minutes to come out, but at least they brought decanters for them. While we waited 20-30 minutes for our food, we could clearly hear the cook and manager discussing how "disgusting" something they were cooking with was and how it's "still safe" to put cooked chicken where raw chicken had just been sitting.
Once we got our food, we were instantly underwhelmed. The highly HIGHLY overpriced steak was burned, the chicken was still rubbery/uncooked in the middle, and the side dishes were basically just warmed up from a freezer bag.
When I sent the chicken back, I heard the chef and the manager bad-mouthing us and complaining about us for sending the food back. I guess that you aren't supposed to expect quality food in a small town? Who knows.
Overall, we were very very happy to get out of there and it made me that much more thankful for restaurants that actually care about the quality...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe had our wedding reception at the Rustic and it could not have been more perfect! The bar is full of history, and it has been beautifully restored to highlight its charm.
The owners and bartenders are all so fun and supportive. They truly went above and beyond: loaned us coolers, sourced beverages off their menu, provided storage space as well as enough tables and chairs to seat all our guests, made delicious signature cocktails just for our event, and even offered our guests rides at the end of the night!
We love square dancing at the Rustic on Tuesday nights in the summer and brought in a caller to recreate it at our wedding. We filled the spacious dance floor with almost everyone squared up, and our guests LOVED it. They could not stop raving about the bar as a venue.
Beyond our wedding night, my friends and family and I have spent a lot of time at the Rustic and we're always greeted warmly and served great drinks at reasonable prices. They serve a variety of fun non-alcoholic drinks, very much appreciated by our sober guests.
The drive-through is super convenient for stocking up at home, and they've got the best prices in town on our favorite: Wyoming Whiskey.
The Rustic Pine Tavern is a must-see icon in Wyoming, and a pillar of the community here in Dubois.

Ā Ā Ā Read moreNice but not particularly friendly to outsiders? Or maybe I just expected something different in a small town? This is one of the few (if not only) spot in town where you can get food past 9pm (all restaurants and grocery stores - basically the entire town - closes by then). We got caught in a snowstorm after around 14 miles of hiking around Yellowstone and Grand Teton and only reached by 9:30. Needless to say, we were tired and famished. They had baked frozen pizza for $11. Given the circumstances, this was a life saver. No complaints about that. It was fairly busy. Around 4 groups of people. Maybe 15-20 people total. Lauren (I think) the waitress was kind and quick to serve us... but that's about it. I guess I expected some small talk. Nothing worth docking a star, but...
